Springfield MA area meetup ON 9/10/21 AT Hampden House discussion inside

All these restaurants are local for me I’m just a stones throw away. I can’t offer any input on the venue I stopped going out well before Covid started..We usually cook at home. I love to get a solid date so the wife can get work off….She’d really enjoy it. She can drive and I’ll get hammered.

It really put a damper on my drunken debauchery having to drive an hour each way to where the meet up was ,We usually make a thing of it and hit up a bunch of gun stores before dinner.

My range is in ruins. It would be nice if we could shoot at the farm before dinner.

If you guys are interested maybe I could bring myself out there reassemble most of it and paint it up needs to be done it’s all rusty and in disrepair…

We’re in Westfield so it’s no more than 20 minutes to any other venues you’re talking about or for my range them anyway
 
There’s also some good places in Northampton to eat. I know about the whole mask thing and everything but I’ll definitely have to look into it. I still don’t understand how you’re going to wear a mask so you can eat dinner. All the cookd are coughing and sweating on everything anyway..
 
The MGM in Springfield as a joke. We only food they have on the floor you have to wait in line for chicken tenders and pizza other garbage. What you’re going to spend at a casino you could just fly to Vegas
 
You obviously have not been to MGM Taps is a good sports bar and restaurant Chandler's is fine dining I am not talking about the food court if that is what you are talking about. .
 
413dan pick a spot and a day if not this will turn into a too many chef's spoil the broth and the get together will never happen

Meh, imho Sturbridge is the gateway to western mass. It's "the line". Not that it matters to me anyways, if these guys were having dinner 2 miles away from NY I'd still go. No townie loop dweller weaksauce talk here. This state is the size of a thimble and people can't stetch their legs.... lol. Then again I drive like 200 miles+ roundtrip on a Sunday to go shoot guns with people, so I'm different. Perspective i guess.

TAP Sports bar at MGM WAS very good, then it went to crap pre-covid. I have not been since. I agree its a decent place to meet, but also agree its not for anyone that doesn't like the city thing. You should probably go for a more laid back setting. .02

There are no stumps left…Stump wall 2.0doesn’t start until next spring…I still have a pretty massive pile of wood chips which I’ve been using for a backstop because I havent been out to the range.

In about 45 minutes we could fix my entire place but I’ll go out there and pick up the plates and do what I Gotta do. Most of the shit that you could carry away already got stolen and somebody set up a amateur range about 2000 feet away using my steel.

Semi trying to get a shed out there to store the shit that can be carried off and stop people from shooting my fire extinguishers and spray paint
 
I’d rather go to the Mardi Gras then the MGM. But I’m pretty sure it would deteriorate into a real shit show the 350 Grill next-door is awesome though. One of my rules is you never eat at a strip club but…But breaking rules can be fun. I don’t think the wife’s gonna want to come though

I can make the 10th work. Now that we're both in the mill though you know we have no excuse not to having shot together by now though. I'll go where ever it is too. I just want good food because these things are always right after I get out of work.

even if this wasn't a this time thing, I am offering to come lend a hand to clean up and get shit in order. if it might mean, a small responsible NES meetup that's icing on cake aint even yet baked. every time I've had the pleasure of making your acquaintance you've been nothing but humble and gracious to me, with equipment and just you in general.

awaiting to hear back if Route 20 bar and grill can accommodate us on that date at that time. 6 may be too late for them is what I'm tentatively hearing. could get like 5 but that won't work for us. gonna wait to hear by tomorrow, reread thread and its ideas, and choose a place. date has been decided, Friday 9/10. the more the merrier, but if they can't make it this go around, beware not, it will not be our last.

La Cocina in Hamden my last suggestion I know they have enough room for a group the food is good and they have a very diverse menu. It is not that far off from the Mass Pike

I've been meaning to check that place out I drive by it on my way to the range.
 
The Russel inn Has had its ups and downs over the years. I think I’m more focused on food. They removed the pool table a few years ago for more seating.

I like this place right in Westfield called “the tavern.”

I really don’t care where we go I’d like to go somewhere that I don’t usually. Which is pretty much everywhere now I guess…

And we don’t have to make a shooting a big thing we just go pop some rounds off at the farm. Maybe I’ll bring out the Uzi or something

you guys just come up with any date you want I dealing with a couple days notice

A couple of thoughts.

MGM is not a good match with an NES meetup. MGM is a destination venue, something you go to to experience whatever that place has to offer, not to socialize with friends you don't see very often.

Since we have some people traveling a significantly longer distance than others, a location fairly close to major travel routes, e.g., the Turnpike, makes more sense for those travelers.

To those of us in Western Mass, many of these places are literally in our back yards so it's less of a problem to get there.

Also, in the coming days dining options may open up resulting in greater crowds at many of the more popular places. Munich Haus comes to mind. It's in the city and frankly, parking could be problematic if more people decide to go there, especially on a Friday night. Also, we were just there.

I suggest that we try to come up with 3 or 4 places, somewhere along the I-90 corridor, with at least 1 or 2 more convenient for those people not fortunate to live in Happy Valley. (that's a joke son, I SAY THAT'S A JOKE!) and put it up for a poll.
 
All I know is every time I park in Springfield i come back to my truck broken into and need buy a new set of jumper cables….
Apparently jumper cables for drugs is a common trade. Some son of a bitch stole the remote for my winch one time.

What in the world would you need just the remote to a winch for?
