I am wondering, How many of you have experience with CMP rifles? Are they shipped directly to your house even without a C&R? I am really in an inner dilemma as to whether or not to pick one up. $550 sound pretty good. I am just not sure if the condition is comparable to a $500 one from a private party/dealer.
I've heard ammo shipments are no problem either. There are no laws against it and the AG can't very well take on the Feds which the CMP is.
Yes, it can be delivered directly to your door without a C&R. Read the eligibility requirements under the sales button on their page.

Just my luck...The service grades get posted to the web site the day after my order for 1 field and 1 rack grade goes in the mail...
I think I am putting my order in the Mail tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it.
I really need to stop reading this thread... Or I'm going to cave in and buy one... then I'll need a good divorce lawer...

I had the OK for a field grade, now I have to work the boss for another $125 for the service
Which law firm did you select; H&R, Winchester or SA?
i notice there is no reference to where these garands were found; i am assuming (dangerous?) that they are not imports? i heard the rumor that some parade rifles from the VFW were coming and they were pretty rough...
