Ruger Mini-30 7.62 X 39

It's very, very hard to find reliable standard capacity magazines. Ruger only made low-capacity magazines and the aftermarket ones are not reliable.

If you want a reliable 7.62x39, magazine-fed rifle, get one of the many AK variants.

I've heard accuracy is horrible with Ruger mini 30s. Accuracy with a mini 14 is a crap shoot on its own, but better. My mini 14 shoots ok at 100 yards, but my SKS rifles can shoot just as well if not better.

IMHO, with standard cap mags it is an overpriced SKS.

I agree. I had a chance to buy a Russian SKS rearsenalled to like new condition or a low mileage Mini 30. The SKS was $200.00 and the Mini 30 was $500.00 with two pre ban hi cap magazines. After thinking about it, I bought the SKS.

Accuracy is awful with the mini-14/30 because Ruger uses such a lightweight
thin barell... an easy fix that despite all this time was never corrected.
