In another post Nickle talked about where his name came from. I told about how in another group I belong to, it was important to signify where I was from. That got me thinking about what others here do while not shooting...
I'll start.
Aside from shooting and guns, I am also a Bonsai artist. I'm sure most know but for those who don't, Bonsai is the Japanese art of miniature trees. The word Bonsai literally translates from Japanese to "Tree in pot" It is a very time consuming art-form, and in my opinion the hardest of all forms of art. The art itself is ever changing and evolving, and to keep the tree small, and the form that is visually correct and pleasing is hard. There is no instant gratification in Bonsai, if I trim a branch to get it to grow in a different direction, it could very well be another 3-5 years before I will see the results of the change. It is something that I love, and I am nowhere near the best, but I do my best and am usually happy with the results I receive. I have studied with several professional Bonsai masters from both here in the states and from Japan.
BTW the correct pronunciation of Bonsai is "Bone-sigh"
So, what about the rest of you?
Adam
PS. Adding the MA to the end of my name was necessary because the forum I visit is folks from all over the world, and they need to know the area you are growing your trees to give advice.
