A lot of those Smith third gen would not have been so forgettable if they didn't have stupid s*** like mag safeties and they made more of those guns in a decock only configuration.

The mag disconnect can be removed and some departments ordered them that way. They made both decock only and frame mounted decock versions for specific agencies. What killed the 3rd Gens was price competition from Glock because a frame made from the same material as a Happy Meal toy is a lot cheaper than one forged in metal and then machined.

So, despite initially not liking this gun, while looking for another small deep concealment pistol, I really wanted (and kinda still do) a sig 238, but ended up buying a CSX in 9mm with the 12 round mag!! 12+1 of 9mm is way better than 7+1 of 380, and very similar size.
