New Acquisitions for March

Been on the short list for a while, and finally snagged one. A Remington 03-A3, 4-43 stamped flaming bomb barrel, OG stamped stock for Ogden, UT, a P proof mark (not circled), peep sight, and all "R" marked parts. Can't wait to get this thing out and shoot!

Very nice! I picked up your rifles younger sibling earlier this month (ogden 11-43 Remington rebuild) Still haven't shot it yet. The 1903 is an amazing looking rifle!

Yes those 1903 Springfields are nice. Here's my with a 1942 Springfield rebarrel; hardly any markings anywhere on the gun:

How Lon did it take after check was cashed? I submitted two about 3 months ago and just curious how much longer its going to take. Also did you e file or mail it in?

Thanks

I mailed it as there was no efile at the time. Check was cashed within two weeks.

I had to resubmit my form with corrections and that was 3 months ago. 7 months to be sent back for corrections, another 4 after that for the stamp.

An Eddystone M1917. I had been looking for a while for a good original 1917. Had to be Eddystone, as I grew up about two miles from where the plant was located.

1943 Springfield Armory M1. Mostly SA (HRA Trigger Housing) with a '68 dated SA barrel. Took it to Mansfield last weekend. Shoots like a dream. Can't wait until her Winchester sister joins us from the CMP this week.

Actually an early February purchase. Colt M1917 in .45 ACP. Shown with half moon clips.

A couple that are a bit newer. HK P30S One of the few non-John Browning designs that feels so natural in my hand. Can't wait to get it to the range to see if the trigger sucks as much as I've heard it does.

Remington R1S Enhanced. Took this with the M1 and had a ton of fun. The weight of the gun makes felt recoil almost negligible.

Very nice. Look like we have very similar taste in guns. Been looking for an Eddystone at the moment. Probably my next buy once I find one that I like.

First SKS. It's a 1950 Russian Tula with matching numbers. Got a killer deal that I won't brag about. I'm very happy. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395073073.528231.jpg

I just picked it up today at GFA ArmsTec in Natick.
Loving the
NEW 10/22 NRA. Special Edition!
Especially the
Williams Fire Sights that come standard on it!

UPDATE

Range Report: Had to use the indoor range due to weather, which is 50' "fixed target".

Ammo used 300 rounds of CCI MiniMag which of the 300 I had 2 FTF, which once placed back in the magazine, fired fine.

Although the trigger is a little heavier that I desire, it was crisp at about 6lbs and had a nice audible reset.

All groups were of 10 rounds with the factory installed
Williams Fire Sights.
Groups averaged 1" or "less". A few groupings were as small as about 1/2 inch!

Overall I am pleased with the gun & I am recommending it!

The CMP M1 arrived today! 1943 vintage Winchester Service Grade with a USGI replacement stock. '46 dated SA barrel. Winchester Op-Rod and trigger guard. SA trigger housing and hammer. I was surprised to find a WWII style lock bar on the windage knob. I would assumed that all were replaced post war. The finish is interesting, in that it is almost a light grey. Almost translucent, not like heavy grey parkerizing that I've seen on some refinishes. The Op rod is much darker, and may be a Greek refinish, that just happened to be WRA. Receiver also appears to be lead dipped.

Here you can see that the receiver was lead dipped (a process used on some of the earlier receivers to prevent cracking/breakage). In the photo, it is the slight shade difference between the rear most portion of the receiver (darker) and the diagonal line going lower left to upper right under the elevation knob. It is kind of hard to see in this light.

This shot really shows the pale grey finish

The Windham Weaponry WW15 I picked up at the Gun Parlor about a week ago. I'm usually a Pre-Ban guy. But this configuration seemed the least obviously post-ban. I have to say that the fit and finish were on par with several guns for which I paid considerably more.
