I had a similar problem with an M&P 45. Squeezing the trigger (like you're supposed to) would fail to release the striker. If you jerked the trigger sharply, the striker would release and the pistol would fire. The problem was the MA trigger return spring, far too strong. Replacing it with a stock (free state) spring solved the problem for $2.75.
