Hi, I applied for my LTC-A today. The clerk took my money, fingerprints and info. She then sat me down took a picture and another index finger print. After she loaded it all into the computer she told me I would be getting a call from a detective in about three weeks. My question is do you think this detective is going to call when my license arrives to give it to me or is it another step to the process. I thought i was going to see the chief that day.http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/images/emoticons/042.gif

You'll get a call from a detective, and he'll conduct an interview. Then (assuming that your background check clears), the detective will send his recommendations to the Chief, and the Chief will decide whether or not to sign off on the return.

I and most people that I've spoken with never even spoke with the Chief. I think the Chief will do interviews in some of the smaller towns out West, but I think that's the exception to the rule. In fact, I have a friend who applied in Medford and requested to speak with the Chief, and her request was refused (more specifically, she was given the run around for 3 months and eventually gave up).
