My Condolences...

It may have already been mentioned, but you could try swapping in a new, known-good power supply. I've seen bad P/Ss do some weird shit...

PS... What's porn like on a gaming system? Fast? Faster? Fastest...?

I think this machine is a goner. It served me well.

Even if I tracked down the issue, what’s next?

Although I think the GPU is fine. Might salvage it to put into a new separate PC to learn how to build them and make it my porn exclusive computer.

I bet I could fix that for under a couple hundo. You should do it as a learning experience. Then you will be embarassed to not build your own.

Look on the bright side if this was a gaming laptop, I'd be like "schuck the disks, throw directly in trash, do not pass go" [rofl]

This is where we start wading into waters I know I can’t swim in.

No idea how to check the watercooler.

When the pump was running did it light up or anything? or it was just bump on a log type thing.... when you turn the machine on can you feel the pump vibrating? (if you had a stethoscope or one of those childrens ones even you might be able to hear the motor with it)

The only reason I spent that much is I was sick of waiting. for GPU prices to drop. And this is a once in a decade thing for me. I replace cars more often than these
machines. I also f***ing HATE opening the case on my own shit. Like with a red blooded hate. I want it done. I'm not getting paid to work on it, so I just want to do it once and get
it over with and maybe clean the dirt out once every couple of years, and thats it. I don't "tinker" with shit anymore unless im helping a friend or getting paid for it. So I throw like 6.5TB of ssd in this thing (4 of it on NVME) and 64G of ram. which ill never use but it ensures that I will never have to touch any of that shit ever again.

Also my last setup... I was 150% skinflint on a lot of the external stuff I had Yamaha speakers I had that were literally 20 yrs old that I got in a trade, the housings are yellow because of the plastic deteriorating... lol... and a 24" dell monitor that I got used, etc. It was time for a refresh, and I decided to just do everything for once.
I do not like building by same reasons.
But may update gpu this winter and give old one to one of kids.
I almost never play now though.

My error here is that I offered to pay @drgrant $500 without realizing that I can’t power on my PC so that I can remove the terabytes of gay porn.

Gonna cost me like $5k more so he doesn’t tell everyone about by prolific gay porn stash.

Be fun to seee if more than like 5 people buy them
i may be a one of them. really dunno, it is either a 3080ti, or a new AMD, all depends upon how price will move. i am on a 570 series motherboard, so, there is some potential benefit to have an AMD card there, but, not that dramatic.
an rx5700xt was so far just fine for what i use it for.

Another wrinkle, now Nvidia announces new next gen GPUs today available starting in October
f#ck nvidia. their new 4900 shit is supposedly will be at $1600? with a claim - cards not going down in price? f#ck you nvidia. if AMD will do a 7000s series for $450 - i am getting it, it works all the same anyway.

If you can chinse out with crap $450 amd gpu you probably didn’t need a real heavy one to begin with. Honestly msrp for GPU is stupid anyways, its not street price and never will be.

I understand I’m getting pegged, however the GPU is the most important part of the machine to begin with. If I’m skimping out on a trash GPU, I’d rather just fist myself with an Amazon kindle than build a gaming PC. That’s like putting a Pinty on a Barrett 50 cal.

Plus, I have Nvdia G-Synch monitors, so switching to AMD GPU is just dumb. Unless I feel like blowing even more stupid ass cash on new V-Sync gaming monitors.

Also…. As to how this thread started, fixed. H1 buffer fixed my case neck issues and also the inconsistent bolt catch after last round in magazine fired.

Plus, when you have consumers too stupid to even make it on the short bus buying $800 Apple watches, a $1,600 top end GPU is relatively cheap.
