No, but I bought it back when you were still pissing your pants. Jack.Did you buy it new?
Atta boy Jack. No, but I bought it back when you were still pissing your pants. Jack.
Looking at that model number in Google...it's a looker. Stainless steel with brown wood grips does something for me. Thanks for the tip. When it was 1911 time for me in Nov'14,
I was pleased to buy an SR1911CMD (Ruger), for $630.
The product family debuted not too long before then,
and certainly The Usual Suspects who review guns
all dutifully cribbed from the Ruger press release
listing the selling points. (Stainless frame;
series 70-style action *but* with titanium firing pin
and beefier FP return spring, to make it drop-safe; etc).
I haven't tried to keep up with all the variants, but IIRC
Ruger subsequently branched out into two-tones (stainless/Al), 9mm, etc.
I don't think I'm misleading if I say the average NES 1911 connoisseur
says, "not too shabby at all for a sub $1K mass-market gun".
So I've got that validation going for me.
Which is nice.
So, you bought it last week. No, but I bought it back when you were still pissing your pants. Jack.
Yeah, the Rugers are pretty solid.Looking at that model number in Google...it's a looker. Stainless steel with brown wood grips does something for me. Thanks for the tip.

SR1911 is sub 1k or at least should be, they were 700 or less not long ago, but these days who knows.Any recommendations for a striker/polymer guy dipping his toes into .45 1911 territory? Maybe something not completely hand-crafted custom $3k expensive? Near or sub $1k would be ideal, but considering I have little knowledge on these guns, I figured I'd see if there was a consensus on brand/model for entry into 1911's. I'm also thinking commander or compact sized, but I suppose that's less of an issue because I probably wouldn't carry it.
Shot my friend's old Colt a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. Starting to get the itch now, and this post reminded me about it.
Mine got a little love from Santurri and it is like a laser and drop dead reliable.SWEET
What I wanted to buy but they are unobtanium as are most name brand 1911's right now.Pretty happy with my Colt Competition.
