Gun Confiscation Coming in Virginia

That just goes to show that running from Mass isn’t the answer. It will follow you.

First the came for........ you know the rest.

Im not accusing you of running. Just highlighting the situation. People relocate for many reasons.

Bob

There about 1,000 reasons to leave MA. It ain't always about guns.

the simple fact that you're completely and totally politically disenfranchised and serve as little more than a tax mule for the donk party/agenda is THE reason a person would leave mAss......

NH and other states are and continue to be battleground states where your vote actually counts......
As I said, added bonus.

Asymmetry: When a LEO shoots a citizen and the family dog, he is doing his job to uphold the law against a criminal enemy of the people – no matter how tyrannical or unconstitutional the law is. The Deep State circles the wagons around him and may even give him an award. But a citizen defending himself is a criminal, and he and his entire family will suffer the ruin of their entire lives at the hands of the State. It is this asymmetry that discourages citizens from taking action, and the State is counting on it.

It's akin to a man holding 100 people hostage with a revolver. He can push and push and push to have his way with the 100 people until the asymmetry goes the other way around: the man empties his six and then gets torn apart by overwhelming power.

The scene played thousands times in history in every corner of the world since the beginning of time. 'that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable'... until NOT.

That's the case of every dictator in history -- the majority are always more powerful if only they take action. So it's critical to have fear keeping the majority submissive. Maintain that fear with secret police, neighbor informants, and "reeducation" labor camps.

History has shown us so many times but gets drowned out by selfies and cat videos.

You reap what you sow! No resolve, no reward! This is true about everything!

Look. I applaud the people involved in this. But you all must know that they’ll be back in 6 months with more of this.

Nothing will change and your rights are already gone.

Lol, so basically you're saying people should do nothing? [rofl]

You're clearly ignorant of the political calculus here, if there was ever a time to "do something" VA is it. VCDL is one of the best f***ing grassroots RKBA org in the nation, hands
down. If a "fail" happens there then the totality of everything is going to be crucial going forward to protect rights elsewhere, regardless of the locale.

Of course they'll be back in 6 months. What do you think this is? Disneyland? There are antis in solid red states that file stupid f***ing bills every year. Freedom 101 Kehd....

“The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance,” (John Philpot Curran, often falsely attributed to Thomas Jefferson).

Add it to the long train of abuses...

Are you joking? The very thing you’re doing is doomed to failure. Wake the f*** up.

NH is long long gone. VA is also now gone.

The 2A counties should just get together and declare themselves New Vriginia. Write a constitution, ratify it and elect a new legislature. kick out any state offices and leave the two incongruous dem strong holds holding their dicks.

Nah, the state belongs to the citizens. No concessions. These tyrants don't deserve any more territory than a prison cell.

Like anything else, it's a question of will.
People are beginning to realize that disarming them isn't the end game , it's just step one.
Think once you give up your guns , it's going to be a handshake and just on with your life ? Bullshit.
You WILL bend to their will or suffer the consequences .

Now the question becomes who wants it more.
Far and away the majority of liberal/socialists that I know wouldn't even stop to help an elderly neighbor get their car unstuck from the snow because they didn't want to get their shoes wet.
I wouldn't expect them to line up to get bloody.
Not that they wouldn't be happy to see you killed, just as long as they didn't have to do it themselves.

So far things have been civilized due to the fact that far and away the majority of gun owners really are good people.
Most of them just want to live their lives in peace, work their jobs, raise their families and be left alone.
Make all of that impossible and I know what side my money is on.

If they insist taking my firearms and most people comply I'll be among the first to end up dead.
I don't worry about it. I'm going to die anyway!
Simple really!

Northam just added more fuel to the fire...

"AP EXCLUSIVE: Northam to Ban Guns From Capitol Grounds
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam plans to declare a temporary emergency Wednesday banning all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square ahead of a massive rally planned next week over gun rights.

Fearing a repeat of the deadly violence that engulfed Charlottesville more than two years ago, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam plans to declare a temporary emergency Wednesday banning all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square ahead of a massive rally planned next week over gun rights.

That's according to two state officials who were briefed on the plans but not authorized to speak publicly about them. The governor, a Democrat, plans to announce the plans at a news conference Wednesday afternoon because of credible threats of potential violence and extremism, one official said.
Northam's planned announcement comes days after Democratic leaders used a special rules committee to ban guns inside the Capitol and a legislative office building. That ban did not include Capitol grounds, which are under the governor's control and are where a huge number of gun-rights advocates are expected to rally Monday.
One official said Northam decided to ban all guns from the grounds of Capitol Square after receiving reports for weeks about inflammatory online postings by out-of-state pro-gun and militia groups who are promising to attend Monday's rally.
The official said the state does not have intelligence that the groups are planning a specific act of violence, but said Northam has grown increasingly concerned about numerous ominous-sounding postings on social media from forces outside Virginia. The official cited one posting that included a photo of an AR-15 and said there are “great sight angles from certain buildings” near Capitol Square."

Our side needs to let the “other” side - wanna be tyrants, marxists, progressives and their friends in the media - know in no uncertain terms that they SHOULD fear us, if they persist in their attempts to disarm us. Let Northam whine to the media. He SHOULD be afraid of the people. As a public official, he belongs to the people and thus should fear them.

Oh they are very much afraid. They might not show it on t.v. or in meetings, but yea. Hence the rush to disarm.
If it can't be everything at once with a full on blitz, then its one thing at a time, death by a thousand cuts.
Pass anything to prohibit firearms from state/ govt buildings, then grounds, then within 100 ft of grounds, then 500 ft, so on.

In my opinion, all the Yahoo's pledging to arrive fully armed in tactical gear, threatening that if things don't go their way that day they are armed and ready,
Those people are the reasons 2A supporters are all considered wack jobs.
What happened to STFU and just do your thing without advertising your every "wanna be move"

All that tough guy spouting off does nothing to help our case, it worsens it.

I don't think his 'emergency' is going to fly. You have pissed off a large amount of the populace, enough so they are openly saying 'I'm not going to comply' and that includes local police. Now because of your 'emergency' you are trying to forbid people from lobbying their representatives. Good luck.

Need a referendum on Va to cede Arlinton Co to DC and Richmond to Maryland and problem solved......

How about this - West Virginia is supposedly issuing a resolution saying they'll admit certain counties that want out from under the Virginia government:

This isn't quite the same thing as what I suggested earlier (kick out the Virginia blue counties and their government) - but it's close.

I think things like this are far more effective than "protests". When the Virginia government starts issuing edicts like they OWN the entire state - the majority of the state just gets up and leaves.

When MA government starts getting out of control - New Hampshire issues a resolution that they'll accept breakaway MA towns - and MA towns just vote to join NH...... etc.

I can see stuff like this really throwing the lefties plans into disarray.

But the overall point that people need to get thru their thick heads - is that protesting is a plea to the powers in charge to not do what they're planning on doing.

When you just get up and leave - or kick them out and tell them that their power is illegitimate, that's a "phuck you" move.

There is a major difference between these two things.

@calsdad hit the nail on the head. Protests are good for getting attention but do not accomplish much at the end of the day. It's great to sit back and say, "Come and try to get them; only out of my cold dead hands". In reality, our lives are still too good. They can restrict that magazine capacity, limit us to one gun purchase per month and shut down all the ranges. They know there is nothing we will do at the end of the day if they pass the law. Why? Because our lives are still really good and we do not want to jeopardize everything. Most of us on this forum are pretty conservative, meaning we work hard and do not live beyond our means. We save so we can retire and have no pressure. Government knows that. It is easy to keep us in check because we do not want to give that up. The only actions we can really take is to move, or as mentioned above, have Towns merge with friendly nearby States (maybe). Only when we have no place to go or a Lib gets into office like Bernie and strips us of everything we own will we ever take drastic action. I hope it does not happen in my lifetime but at the rate things are changing it would not surprise me.

See, you have to give the lazy cellar dweller free stuff because they have nothing of worth, no reason to put up with any crap. They are the ones government needs to worry about because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The hard working 2A/Constitution respect working slob, eh......... easy to keep at bay.

So yup, I'm moving as soon as I hit my number. It is the only reasonable thing to do for now. BTW, the libs have been doing this for years. And it has worked for them. Government has been quite effective as well by using immigration to do the same thing.
