glenn beck

I didn't see that, but good for him if he owned up to it. It was beyond stupid, and I still have to question why someone would abandon their principles so egregiously like that.
 
I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a while, and I guess this is the thread to do it in. Glen Beck is the Robin Williams of conservative media. I don't mean his sense of humor or presentation, I mean the fact that he had a reputation of stealing from unknowns in the same industry. Further, as has already been pointed out, he was for the bailouts and against Ron Paul. I should also point out that he torpedoed the Tea Party pick for the Texas governorship.

Debra Medina torpedoed herself. It was a simple, routine, question where the only answer to give was NO, yet she rambled and never really said no she didn't believe the 9/11 truther argument.

GLENN: I have when I said that I was going to have you on, you can't imagine the mail pro and con that I received. There was a theme that ran against you and that is you are a 9/11 Truther.

MEDINA: Well, there's lots of mud that people would like to throw at Debra Medina and make stick. The truth is I'm an everyday ordinary person. I am fighting for the things that our founders fought for, those very basic principles of a constitutional republic, and I'm going to champion people that hold their government accountable, hold me accountable but that's the first time I've heard that accusation. So that's an interesting one.

GLENN: Right. Here's then let me be more frank and ask you the question: Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?

MEDINA: I don't, I don't have all of the evidence there, Glenn. So I don't I'm not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there. So I've not taken a position on that.

GLENN: I think the people of America might think that might be a yes.

Medina was not running on a 9/11 truth platform. She was running on a platform that included things like border security and State sovereignty. Glenn Beck wanted to make hay out of something that had nothing to do with anything. He also spent the next week or so bashing her on all his outlets, so yeah, he torpedoed her pretty good.

Why would you start out by insulting a respected member in the third post of a new thread, when all he asked was a question? You are most definitely entitled to your opinion, but are you just looking for a fight?

Texas Governor Rick Perry is the kind of governor I wish every state had, so I'm not sure I'm unhappy with that if true.
 
A big thing I like about Beck is he tells you not to believe a word he says. He encourages you to go out and look up everything you question about what he has to say. I can't count the times Glenn has said go and read a book, go to the library study your history etc... He encourages learning. There is not enough of this today. People are content in there little ignorant worlds. Some people today can't name the vice president?? If you've ever watched J walking with Leno that skit shows how out of touch many people are. TV needs more like Beck. As long as Glenn keeps reporting the truth he will have my support!!

Mitt has been trying to run as anti-health care and he signed the MA health care bill. He tries to run on Pro-2A grounds and yet signed the MA AWB.

As they say, actions speak louder than words. And I put more credence in a pol's track record on issues when it comes to votes than what their campaign platform is.

Ya right. He's an idiot. He's for smaller government,pro 2A, lower taxes and tells everyone what is really going on with this admin and government what no one else discusses. Take of your blinders man and wake up! All the liberals in this country and the socialists in this government are going to be voted out of office.
 
I can't even count the number of acquaintances who Beck has inspired to expand their education on matters related to our founding, our history, and our current political environment.

Like him or not, you could do a lot worse than spend an hour a day listening to what he has to say. He has a very unusual format for TV and, in my opinion offers up the equivalent of a college level course in government and politics each day.

Those who catch it, better themselves if they make the most of it.

I'm extremely grateful that he's doing what he's doing to help educate people to what's going down, and waking them up to their own potential to have an impact.

maybe its because I was public school educated and a listener of the network news but I learn more about history and the unfotunate corruption in our government every time I listen to Beck. Every time I listen I realize how dumb we as a society really are. I get more from the 3 hrs on the radio than I ever did from school or the old shcool news media

The only thing I wonder about Glenn Beck is whether he has a ccw from NYC to carry to work every day. I know he broadcasts from times square, but I am unsure if he has a NYC permit or not. Honestly, if he does, THAT really pisses me off. my fiancee lives in nyc, used to live here, had her ltc a here, and now has nothing in NYC. they flat out didn't even offer her the paperwork. So what makes people like beck (and howard stern, and probably EVERY politician, for that matter) more "important" than the average single woman living in NYC? I know its not Beck's fault that this is the situation, but I really can't see how some one who hates big government and liberal socialist ideals could be comfortable in new york city, which is kinda the epicenter of liberal government on the east coast. Has he ever spoken out about the fact that his listeners are not as "equal" a citizen in the eyes of their state government as he is?

You shouldn't be stunned by the fact that people who are celebrities and who are 'connected', personally or through their employers, have an easier time with the cops.

I'm sure you'll also find that the percentage of hollywood celebs who get licensed, WAY exceeds the percentage in the general CA population.

Of course it's not right, but it is sort of understandable.
 
yes, i am in no way suprised that his celebrity status allows him to get certain "privileges" that we mere mortals cannot get, and I do believe that tons of celebrities get the same privileges. my only point was that MOST celebrities do not make their living criticizing the political party that allows only a "select" few to use their constitutional rights. and please don't get me wrong, I am in no way singling out Glenn Beck. there are many, on both sides of the aisle, who get "special" rights. this is just an observation, more so than a criticism.
