Colt's newly designed website

i have never owned a colt and never shot one. I agree that its louzy
that they are not sold in the disgraceful dump of a state.

but whats the attraction.... is it the availability, or are they that good?

I can't speak of the current quality, because we don't get new ones here in Mass, but the older ones are mostly excellent and highly prized.

Colt has gotten themselves into a pickle over the last 20 or so years. They have largely let the boom in 1911 and AR15 (what should have been a core business for them based on their long history with both types of guns) sales pass them by as they concentrated on servicing the M16/M4 contract for the services. They have let companies like Wilson, Kimber, Bushmaster, DPMS, etc. establish themselves without offering any real competition. Unfortunately the government contracts all eventually dry up at some point. As one of the last old line gunmakers I hope they can realize success from their new attention to the civilian market but I have my doubts.
