This is ridiculous. Slavery in America is over, has been for a very long time. Yes, there is still racism and it is a terrible thing that I hate but discrimination is illegal and socially unacceptable. There is not much else we can do about it. Racism existed for centuries before American slavery. It existed among all kinds of ethnic groups, not just between blacks and whites. It is a very unfortunate part of the human experience and we do all we can to keep in check but it will never be eradicated. BLM and all of this overreaction, victimhood and virtue signalling is just stirring the pot and making things much, much worse and that is a fact.
You cannot control people's thoughts with legislation or any other means. You cannot force people to not be racist, it is impossible and it is completely un-American to try. It is supposed to be a free country and if some jackass wants to be an evil POS and be a racist they should be free to do so as long as they aren't actually hurting anyone or breaking any laws. Freedom means free to think what you want and nobody gets to tell you how to think, even if you what you think is awful.
What I hate more than racism is people trying to take away my God given freedom. If you act like a racist I will not like you and I will not want to be around you but that's it. I acknowledge your right to be a disgusting, filthy racist if that's your deal. Try to take away my freedom, especially my 1a or 2a rights and it will go beyond me just not liking you.
Was this a depiction of slavery or racism? No, it wasn't. This was a 100% innocent depiction of a 100% non-offensive historically accurate practice. So there is no freakin reason for these BLM retards or anyone else to get offended by this. This little girl looked to be having a good time, happy to be picked to participate. She sure didn't look offended to me because she understood the context of it, something these protestors failed to grasp. They didn't bother to try to grasp it, they didn't want to. They wanted to protest, they wanted to play victims, they wanted to stir the pot, get attention and cause trouble and division. That's the crap that is tearing this country apart and doing nothing to fight racism.
They need to get over themselves and their microaggression BS. They need to just cut the crap, go to work, school or whatever it is they do and stop looking for things to be victimized over. Problem is it sounds like some of them are professional protestors/victims which is pathetic and counter-productive to a peaceful resolution. Unfortunately, as we have seen, BLM isn't about peace or equality.
Every time there is a protest or riot over something stupid (like this) or something that turns out to not be a racist incident (Michael Brown) it greatly diminishes attempts by good people to combat true racism. Like I said, you cannot legislate or otherwise force anyone to be a good person. We can make it very uncomfortable and unprofitable to be a racist and we can prosecute people for breaking any laws against discrimination but crying wolf like this just drives a wedge in society and makes it that much harder. Speak out, protest peacefully when discrimination actually occurs and someone is actually victimized. Until then STFU and do something positive.
I can tell you that my life is hard enough without looking for more things to be upset about. If you want to play the victim when nobody has been victimized then perhaps you just don't have enough crap in your life to worry about so you go looking for more. Me, I've got all the crap I can handle, no need to look for more thank you very much.
