It’s the kind of overnight gun control Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders can get behind
Three days is all it took for politicians in New Zealand to ban so-called “military style” rifles in the wake of horrific attacks on mosques that left 50 kiwis dead.

The laws haven’t been formally approved by the country’s parliament, but Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the ban on “all military style semi-automatic weapons” takes effect immediately, regardless.

“Today I am announcing that New Zealand will ban all military-style semi-automatic weapons. We will also ban all assault rifles. We will also ban all high capacity magazines,” Ardern said, according to ABC News. “We will ban all parts with the ability to convert semi-automatic or any other type of firearm into a military style semi-automatic weapon.”

It’s the kind of overnight gun control Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders can get behind.

The socialist senator from Vermont praised the government’s move to limit gun rights in a post to Twitter late Wednesday.

Bernie Sanders calls for NZ style gun grab

Well, at least we know where he stands!

Well, maybe we will just have to respond with a little Lexington and Concord style Tyrant Control.

If there's two people who need to have a stroke right now it's Bernie and Ruth. Come on people get it over with.
There is a difference. While she’s not part of our tribe I believe RBG is s good person and American. Socialist grandpa would step over you if you were having s heart attack.

Perhaps he and Warren could stroke out together

The Doctrine of the Three Percent.
We will not disarm.
You cannot convince us.
You cannot intimidate us.
You can try to kill us,
if you think you can.
But remember, we'll shoot back.
And we are not going away
Your move.

we could start a mega-thread on that. i'd add nancy p. & chuckie s. to the list. i used to have a benevolent attitude towards this ilk, not wishing any deadly illness on any of them. but it's over for me, these people are the enemy

When Bernie was first elected to Congress in 1990, VT's demographics were very different than now. He touted his "independent" status and was devious enough to hide his anti-2A views since at that time it was a third rail issue that would have doomed his candidacy. In the nearly 30 years since, VT has been invaded by liberals from MA, CT and NY as we have in NH. Bernie was able to show his true colors during his last two US Senate campaigns and it hasn't kept him from being re-elected.

I have a funny feeling that Bernie wont be with us for all that much longer.......between the clintons and his hateful primary opponents I wouldnt be shocked if there was some sort of really bizarre accident .......

The dem field is really the party of old white dementia patients......

After the reshuffling process of the Politburo ended in the mid-to-late 1970, the Soviet leadership evolved into a gerontocracy, a form of rule in which the rulers are significantly older than most of the adult population.

History of the Soviet Union (1964–82) - Wikipedia

Gerontocracy is alive and well in the Kremlin. That is the indisputable lesson taught by the impact of the 25th Soviet Communist Party Congress on the Moscow leadership. The clique of elderly gentlemen that has ruled the Soviet Union so tar during the 1970's remains in control.

The marginal changes announced last week involve the removal of the “young” Dmitri S. Polyansky who is still on the right side of 60, and the election of Dmitri F. Ustinov, now 67, and Grigory V. Romanov, a mere stripling of 53. But the real kernel of power remains the hands of Messrs. Brezhnev, Kosygin, Suslov and Podgorny, a quartet whose average age exceeds 70.

Soviet Gerontocracy

Dropping like flies: the gerontocracy in the last years of the Soviet Union.

The former guerrilla fighters who founded Cuba’s single-party government will hold power for years to come after a twice-a-decade Communist Party congress kept President Raul Castro and his hardline deputy in the top leadership positions.

Fidel Castro, who held power for nearly five decades before ill health led him to make way for his brother, delivered a valedictory speech to the congress Tuesday and called on it to fight for his communist ideals despite the fact that he is nearing the end of his life.

“I’ll be 90 years old soon,” Castro said in his most extensive public appearance in years. “Soon I’ll be like all the others. The time will come for all of us, but the ideas of the Cuban Communists will remain as proof on this planet that if they are worked at with fervor and dignity, they can produce the material and cultural goods that human beings need, and we need to fight without a truce to obtain them.”

A kindergarten group is on a walk in a park, and they see a baby hare. These are city kids who have never seen a hare. "Do you know who this is?" asks the teacher. No one knows. "Come on, kids", says the teacher, "He's a character in many of the stories, songs and poems we are always reading." Finally one kid works out the answer, pats the hare and says reverently, "So that's what you're like, Grandpa Lenin!"

Well, New Hampshire has had the benefit of being the uncool state on the right side of the river. Being "From Vermont" has been A Thing for decades: trendy in a hippy-dippy country Ben-n-Jerry moo-cow sort of way, such that people think having some sort of Green Mountain State nexus is cool and clever. TV show Newhart was set at an inn... in Vermont. I see acquaintances who invariably ask me, despite having been told otherwise several and many times, "How's the move to Vermont going?" [rolleyes]

New Hampshire is in trouble, but unlike Vermont - which I fear is a write-off now - can be saved with hard work.

What do you mean invaded? 30plus years ago my dad would always say returning from VT camping/hunting trips.
I would move here if it where not for all the liberals and commies.
