Wend out the last 2 sundays in the wind for some freshwater fishing. One sunday was brutal cause i was getting blown all over the place. The next Sunday was fantastic after i installed an anchor trolley and an anchor.
Not sure how i fished the last few years without this:

Anybody watch "Pacific Warriors" last night? It's about Kayak fishing in Hawaii. I DVR'd it but haven't watched it yet.

Unfortunately in our area it's only blues and strippers from a kayak
and Black Sea Bass, Tautog, Albies, Bonito, Fluke, and more
Agreed, I was referencing potential larger species for gear planning/sizing above my current (12-30 lb) spinning gear. Shops are saying that there's a very low probability to need heavier gear on a kayak in our area.
Our's is not a "The Old Man and the Sea" scenario area, but I wish !!!
Same.Yup, I use 20 & 30lb braid on my yak spinning gear and 40lb braid on my conventional reel for jigging & trolling.
The trolling / bait-casting setup I found to be to clunky for use on the AI is a Penn 113H reel on a Penn 4/0 SS-3140RW 30-50lb rod.
I troll with my spinning gear.
Anyone here kayak fish the cotuit/poponesset area? I've been fishing on a 9' lake style kayak that I put rod holders on, no more than 300 yards or so off shore. I'm interested in going further off shore but would lIke to have a buddy kayak. And also see other setups.
