All good points and I agree regarding unity and strength of the left. Probably many on the forum would agree.
So... Regarding unity, how does trashing other 2A supporters work? Why bash those who prefer to send their cash to support leaner, more local organizations or those who prefer to donate directly to clubs / organizations under attack?
If I were to be harsh regarding the NRA, I would say that it has evolved partially into a scam for a small, elitist group of carpetbaggers to line their pockets via tapping into the fears of the change-averse and low information membership. Total lack of accountability is magnifying the increasing levels of cronyism and self-serving decision-making, while allowing those in control to crush any attempts to clean house. The NRA can claim a few legislative victories, or at least cite successful legislation in part supported by the NRA, but how much more effective could they be without the WLP, Ack Mack, and other shenanigans? Could those victories expand beyond only the most gun-friendly states in the union? Does the NRA only join fights that would be won regardless of NRA involvement?
But I'm not harsh, so I won't say that.
The NRA is part of the "SWAMP", we obviously know that and object to our money being mishandled.
Like it or not, an organization with millions of dollars becomes corrupted, not because it is a political entity, but because people run it. The people in charge have become greedy and corrupted, just like the federal government and government at all levels.
Who do we trust? Who can we trust?
Frankly, outside of my wife and one true friend, I don't trust anyone. (but that might be harsh)
So, does my trying to convince other gun owners to support the NRA with $30 a year, mean they are being "trashed" ?.....
We are becoming the minority in this country.
Trump has taken on the swamp with some good success, but he
has not, and
will not be able to "drain the swamp".
If we can muster up some "unity" Trump
might be president in 2020.
What happens after Trump? Will the swamp just fill up again to Obama levels?
If Virginian conservative voters were "united" things would be different in Virginia! 20% voter turnout in some areas. (but that might be harsh)
Will the extra $30 be better sent to GOA? Maybe
I would suggest $30 to the NRA and $30 to GOA and $30 to GOAL (and $30 to all the rest), would be the better bet.
Would it be better to have no NRA in the future because they spent my money on BS? ....... I argue NO! (but that might be harsh)
We are now firmly entrenched in the roaring "2020"s!
Every democrat running for president wants to take our guns and our rights.
These are serious questions:
Who is our leader? (we don't have one)
What is our plan? (we don't have one)(or it's fragmented at best)
I know $30 is not short money to everyone, but it is to me, and I would bet it is to many others on this forum, as well!
When the "dinosaur" is dead, will we be "triumphant" because we defeated Wayne LaPierre?
Or are we just helping to defeat ourselves? (but that might be harsh)
