A post Trump win scenario.....Your thoughts on post election chaos

Four years to prepare for whatever. Sooner or later Democrats will take the White House and Congress, and when they do, they'll be sure to alter the rules so thoroughly someone like Trump will never win again.

Republicans do need to come up with a strategy to court younger folks, and to stop Texas from turning blue...because relying on the Supreme Court to "fix things" is a losing position, and one that could theoretically be undone with court packing.

We've had five cases in US history of someone losing the popular vote but winning the electoral.

1824: John Quincy Adams
1876: Rutherford B. Hayes
1888: Benjamin Harrison
2000: George W. Bush
2016: Donald J. Trump

Wouldn't it be a trip if the Donald did it twice? I don't think it'll be close but man, talk about living in interesting times. Liberal tantrums would be unprecedented.

As long as he doesn't waste the supermajority like last time. Hope they've learned.

You heard it HERE first: LA, NY, DC and other Dem Swamps are going to come out with unbelievable 100% voter turnout numbers because they stuffed the ballots so badly with fake mail-in votes. Biden will win the popular vote and Trump will win the electoral college.

This is 100% what I am voting for. 4 more years to get my family in a better situation and my kids to grow a little bit older and more capable of grasping what is going on. I have no illusion there is a fix for this, I just want more time to get ready for the big L.

The supreme court will become a very busy place when the libs do get in. The single most important thing right now is to get that vacant seat filled. The we hope and pray that the judges do their job and uphold the constitution. It is our last line of defense that does not require physical action.

The only thing I know is "Take the guns first, go through due process second" Trump will pretend to be friends of the 2A for four more years with no action. Maybe he'll allow the ATF to ban some more features like bump stocks too?
Says the guy who’s not even a Green member...pot calling the kettle black.

[rofl]Yeah, supporting this forum is really going to help 2A laws.

You might be surprised. Several of us had the chance to do field work and submit evidence for a major legal case against the Mass AG this year, all because of the all-call on NES. But we see you don’t feel like supporting the 2A community generally through this forum. So just list all the 2A advocacy orgs you support financially.

As another member recently said, “Put up or shut up.”

yes, let's compare a small donation from a private citizen to a private for-profit company vs the president of the united states. Sounds like that's a fair comparison as far as impact. I don't have to prove anything about myself but it's easy to say Trump hasn't and will not (if elected again) do this for 2A. RINO's tend to do that.

Here you do. Show you have some skin the game and your gripes might be taken more seriously.

I contribute to two in your signature, and a different club. It's only worth fighting locally now, nationally nothing will get done regardless of who is in office. IMHO, both sides have now established they don't actually want guns in the hands of the people so they're easier to suppress.

I'm pretty sure Trump will win and win by enough margin that it's impossible to sway the election through fraud. I also want to see both houses win the same way. If this happens, I truly hope we see Trump's gloves come off and he nails every dem (and some repubs) that have been trying to destroy this country by their own hands...that goes doubly (and especially) for the BLM and Antifa shitbags. If he does this, it's a good chance he will have stomped on the dem party for a long time to come and their effectiveness will be close to zero.

Well, I can dream, can't I?

From your lips to God's ears!

My prediction:
Trump will get over 50% of the popular vote.
Harris will get 200% of the popular vote (how long will Biden be around anyway?)

Whatever the numbers, they could be more than the number of registered voters, maybe even the entire population.

Trump is a long-game kind of guy. Just because we're on the outside and frustrated with the lack of prosecutions, he's likely been building good cases against the sedition and crimes knowing a 2nd term will be the opportunity to move forward. There wasn't enough time since 2016 to learn the full scope of things *and* enact the appropriate responses. He's done well with the courts, fought off attempted coups, and survived the entire media and liberal onslaught mere mortals would have been vanquished by. The left is likely in panic mode knowing this is in the cards, and this is why, out of the 11 presidential elections I've voted in this one is for all the marbles. Trump/Pence for the win in 2020 or America as we know and love her is finished.

I hope you're right...his choices of AG's have been less than stellar. I'm even wondering how much longer Barr will be around.

This. Unless it’s outright overwhelming toward Trump. Too many Karen’s watching the View imo for that to happen, but maybe.
I hope Trump wins by one vote. Let them rage and burn. Doesn’t effect my life any out here in the boonies and it makes me laugh when they burn their own stores.

All this bellyaching about popular vs. electoral misses the point that the results are not necessarily indicative of what they would be if the campaigns ran trying to capture popular rather than electoral votes.

When my wife worked for State Street in 2016, they had designated certain conference rooms as a place to go and cry. For several weeks.

Scary, isn't it. It's not about which guy is going to do better for the company, and as a result, your financial bottom line AT YOUR JOB. It's about your feeeeelings. Makes me want to avoid SS even more.

Regardless of the outcome, I am hoping and praying for a smooth transition into the next 4 years. I love this country and enjoy living in a relatively peaceful society. Sure, I don’t always agree with those in power, but that is part of what makes this country great. The collective ‘we’ put them in office and (eventually) can take them out of office just the same.

Yeahno. F them and the horses they rode in on. We had 8 years of mediocrity under Obama. He did all the wrong and none of the right. And then added some nice racial division for good measure. He left this country a craphole as best as he could and then took credit for everything that EVERYONE ELSE did.

I prefer to avoid another 4 years of that if I can. And I HATE Trump. I think his outside persona is just annoying. (I think it's 100% an act.) It's unprofessional and stupid. But he gets the job done.

What rule avoids another Trump??? No spray-tans? Normal haircuts only???? This is The President we are talking about. About the only thing they COULD do, and I'd be 100% behind them in this, is to take away a lot of these modern "presidential powers" crap. "Sorry, you don't have the authority to do that - that's our authority." GOOD! Because 99% of Trump's XO agenda is reversing Obama XO's. 100% of Obama XO agenda was to get stuff made into law that had no purpose being in law, but he couldn't get Congress to play ball.

Finally - Republicans could own the young AND the immigrant vote. . . . . . . . by championing immigration reform. But all'y'all don't want that. You want to see people punished for these heinous crimes of. . . . coming to America and getting a job. Forget the true criminals. Someone who comes here to work is a criminal most of the time because our immigration rules are FAR too stringent and reactionary to 150 years of US immigration history. Time to revamp. Open the doors. Be amazed at how these new immigrants embrace you and your freedom-loving, low-tax-loving ideals.

The youngsters will follow the immigrants. Problem solved.

Wait. We can't do that. We have to PUNISH people. Bad bad people. Sure we speed and eat grapes at the grocery store. But they came here and we said theycouldn't. Even though we desperately needed them. We said we couldn't. LOL

I’m not bellyaching and I appreciate the necessity of the Electoral College. Just making observations about how rarely we have such close calls.

The easiest way to get the young vote would be to legalize recreational drugs, pardon people convicted for non-violent/possession drug sentences and, don't go around talking about "banning Tik Tok" and stuff. Police reform, to some degree, would be nice (bracing myself for people trying to spin this into defunding the police or riots or something). Also, while I really don't want single payer/govt healthcare, some kinds of checks and balances on healthcare would also win young people over. While it's a meme to some degree, there's enough people spouting the "get a hangnail and you go bankrupt" stuff to make it at least worth discussing some kinds of healthcare measures that would get broad support.

These are the issues I hear lots of 16-30 year olds talk about that the Republicans in general either seem to completely ignore or step on their own d*cks about, probably because it's primarily got the image of an "old peoples' party" as it stands.

There is only one scenario I can see where there is not massive, two-sided violence.

Trump wins by large margin, GOP retains Senate -
D's throw a temper tantrum, riot & burn, but it ends during the winter . Limited violence.

Trump wins by a small margin, GOP retains Senate, but post election ballot fraud flips it to Biden -
Trump does to concede. Pelosi tries to assume role of POTUS. Goes to SC. Massive violence on both sides.

Trump wins by a large or small margin, GOP loses the Senate -
D's impeach and remove. Trump refuses. Goes to SC. Massive violence on both sides.

Gov't goes Socialist, change laws, packs courts, dismembers Constitution. Maybe an attempted Civil War down the road before all R's are put on the trains.

For what it's worth, I don't think any projections have the Democrats getting anything close to 67 Senate seats (mercifully).
So, it would take a good chunk of Republicans defecting for that to happen.
Even the "liberal polls" give the Democrats a 0.2% chance of even getting 60 seats.
The 538 ran 40,000 Senate simulations and the most common result is 51 Democrats, 49 Republicans. So Democrats would need a whopping 16 Republicans to defect to convict.

There are still swamp Republicans who will flip if the payola price it right.

Glad to read a positive post in this thread! Thank you.
While I don't expect a 1972-like landslide, a dominant victory and winning the House will force the Dem Party away from Socialism. It's happened before.

If a full one-third of Republicans vote to convict (unless it truly is a legitimate charge), then everything is screwed regardless of who wins, and the Senate might as well be 100 Democrats.

Imagine how strong of a victory Trump would have if the media was at minimum level with how they treated D/R. It literally would be another Reagan red map.
I think if there was a way to stop the mail-in voter fraud and abuse it would be a Reaganesque victory.
