These are the folks who nominate the new candidates before they go to the Governors Council for approval. http://www.mass.gov/governor/administration/sjcnc If you would like to be considered for one of the vacancies on the SJC, here are the application instructions: http://www.mass.gov/governor/administration/sjcnc/sjc-application-instructions.html Application deadline is 5pm March 18.
Posted a comment that hopefully will be heard.Saw this interesting link in the latest GOAL friday newsletter http://www.sentinelandenterprise.com/news/ci_29531380/guns-spotlight-baker-works-fill-sjc-seats
What is also frightening about the SJC is that it has accepted the logic of "because the state needs the money".
- It upheld a $75 fee to confront your accuser in traffic court - even if you are found not responsible for the offense.
- It held that the parents of an adult child, who let that child live in their house, assume responsibility for all criminal defense fees of that adult child who will be barred from a public defender based on the parents income and/or assets.
In Gov. Bakers case, we have to hope that he is at least appoints people that are benign rather than malevolent when it comet to 2A.
3 more nominees announced: current Superior Court Judges Kimberly S. Budd, Frank M. Gaziano, and David A. Lowy http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...ominees-sjc/6ZoAH6muWJcKIV2dlHiQ0I/story.html
Second confirmation announced. "Councilor Jennie Caissie of Oxford, the lone Republican on the council, praised Lowy for his respect for "lawful gun owners and Second Amendment rights, which is apparently not a view held by some of our elected officials here in the commonwealth.""

Good question, hope they hold true...Should we start getting excited?

"I feel certain that interpretation will likely end up coming before the SJC at some point."
So let me get this straight. We're hoping a RINO gov in a heavily anti politician controlled legislative body appoints solidly pro 2a judges. While I'm hoping the same, I just don't see that happening without some sort of "compromise".
I'd write the one person I know on the governors council, but she's a died in the wool anti
