Went to my first trip to a range with my daughter. We had alot of fun very nice people there and enjoyed trying out my ruger mark III .22. Then some nice guy let me try his ar 15 great times and great weather.

went and got my permit for woodcock today, paid the 40 beans and i'd have to say (other than the $100 for my license) that was probably the best $40 i ever gave this city....

be nice if they had later hours since i work 9-5 M-F... be nice to head over after work and punch some holes in some paper...
got a bit of a burn and a touch of sun poisoning at the pistol range, i'll know better the next weekend i go...
which will likely be next weekend ;)
now i just need to save my pennies for a few rifles....

The one thing that really bothers me about Woodcock Rd ( dont get me wrong its still a great range).. is that on regular intervals you can have what I can only describe as legitimate gang bangers coming to the range to shoot. I have packed my stuff up there more than once because I was simply afraid to spend time looking down range over watching over my back. Not a bad place, just being public, sometimes you got to see who else is there and maybe make another trip another day.

Range Porn, thanks to Google Maps and Adobe Photoshop....

I called today to get a range permit but the range supervisor wasn't there. The guy on phone said he will be there tomorrow.

They all seem like pretty good guys over there.... Wed. is their late day, so maybe he takes tuesday knowing it'll be a long day wednesday..... I'll be there tomorrow with my Mosin after i get out of work, gonna see if the action works any better with brass instead of steel.....

I'll be going tomorrow most likely.

Thinking of joining here for a cheap place to shoot. What do you need to bring with you for targets, etc.? Are there target stands and such provided? The hours are a bit of a downer, but it's cheap enough to work until I can get a membership somewhere with an indoor range.

I haven't been there in years but I remember you could rent target stands

You rent their target stand/s for $1 each.

I went there last year to help a friend having issues with some loads of .308 with his Remington 700. It's still a decent and affordable place to go, if you have week days off from work.

DO they provide paper targets or do you have to buy that on your own also? im planning on signing up this weekend since i just got my Shield 9mm and im dying to fire it. and also can I bring a guest?

Paper targets are available to purchase in the clubhouse or you can bring your own, you need to rent the target stand (I think it's $1). You can bring 1 guest one time, then that guest is supposed to join if they want to come again.

good to know!, thank you!

A friend told me about this place, so I want to take a drive and check it out. Not much info out there about it. Is there a web site? Anyone know the max distance?

Your best bet would be to search NES, most Google searches will bring you back here. It used go out to 500 yards, I was there a last year and it's maintained out to about 200. Which is a shame really as there isn't to many long ranges in southern NE.
