I think the current administration and particularly those who are pulling its strings have flipped upside down what would normally be a "should" or "shouldn't". One must keep in mind that progressives consider the Constitution to be an archaic document of suggestions written by white oppressors to facilitate the keeping of their slaves in check."Shouldn't" being the operative word.
They're in tnHow’s this do with Trex Arms? aren’t they in VT? seems like their setup would qualify.
Thanks for the life of me I thought they were in VT.They're in tn
This is all about Slate Ridge. That mess has been going on for years and the state decided to use a nuke.Vermont has become Southern Canada. It is a liberal shithole. This particular bill is targeting a specific organization, "Slate Ridge"

Legislature passes waiting period law for gun purchases
Republican Gov. Phil Scott “has significant concerns about the constitutionality of the waiting period provision.”www.burlingtonfreepress.com
So Vermont passed a 72 hour waiting period because 88% of gun deaths are suicide. Then votes to allow people from other states to come to Vermont to commit suicide. LOL. So it is OK to kill yourself as long as you ask the government first.
Oh and the magazine ban from a couple of years ago.
That is the part that matters. Who would get to be the arbiter of how what a training group teaches "will be used"? But the bill does not actually say that; it says:
https://legislature.vermont.gov/Doc... Passed by Both House and Senate Official.pdf...if the person knows or reasonably should know that the teaching, training, or demonstrating is intended to be used in or in furtherance of a civil disorder...
No. The law specifically excludesIf they did this in MA, wouldn’t that make the mandatory firearms safety course illegal?
The FBI isn't happy about this law.I’m not going anywhere that calls itself a militia training area.
No honeypots for me please.
A lot of clubs and organizations have some text in their membership application about not being a felon or seeking to overthrow government, just for those legal and liability purposes. In general, national & state firearms associations have not come to the rescue of organizations that make such disclaimers but add “legitimate government” to their mission statements, while advocating current governments are not legitimate.Well heck, a gun club/ range might hit the criteria. Vermont, wow.
They'd use their NES membership as proof.No. The law specifically excludes
"(4) any facility, program, or lawful activity related to firearms instruction and training that is intended to teach the safe handling and use of firearms;"
For a valid arrest under the law, the State would have to show probable cause of "knowledge of or intent to cause or further a civil disorder" and prove that beyond a reasonable doubt to convict. Rhode Island and Virginia, for example, have similar laws.

This bill was a direct response to the a**h*** in Pawlet who couldn’t manage to play nice with his neighbors.
From the article:
Vermont on Monday made it a crime to own or operate paramilitary training camps in the state after Republican Gov. Phil Scott signed legislation introduced in response to a firearms training facility built without permits that neighbors called a menace.
Violators face up to five years in prison or a fine up to $50,000 or both, according to the law. It prohibits a person from teaching, training, or demonstrating to anyone else the use, application, or making of a firearm, explosive, or incendiary device capable of causing injury or death that will be used in or in furtherance of a civil disorder. It also bans a person from assembling with others for such training, instruction or practice.
The gun violence prevention group led by former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, of Arizona, who was forced to give up her political career when she was disabled in a 2011 assassination attempt, praised Vermont's law.

You can have a militia, but the "well regulated" part implies training.doesn't the constitution say something about a "well regulated militia"?
how can you have a militia without training?
But it's also in direct violation of 2aI’m not going anywhere that calls itself a militia training area.
