My latest acquisition just showed up at the door:

- Bolt-action firearm
- Carbine in length - with a 20.5" barrel
- Has a brass ID disk in the butt stock
- Only 11,000 made

Winner gets no prize, except the supreme self-satisfaction that comes with being a knowledgable milsurp collector!

(I'll keep adding clues if no one gets it right away - and will post a picture when you do).

Good Luck!

Not the greatest picture, but I'll take some more later.

I was shocked when I saw it on the vendor's website, especially in such "Cherry" condition, and at about 1/2 what I usually see them going for. Apparently it was from a 2-star general's estate - and he was a shooter as well as a collector.

Bore, action and wood are great, but it does have the typical barrel pitting along the woodline and on the receiver. Headspace checks out fine. We'll have to see how she shoots this weekend.

As usual, I've been digging into the history of these things, along with that of the Royal Irish Constabulary - really interesting. Part of history I didn't really know about.
