Target load distance traveled.

Does anyone know where I can find information on how to calculate the distance birdshot will travel? I'm curious as to how far 1200fps #8 shot will travel. Taking in to consideration wind resistance and all of that other good stuff. A lot of people tell me between 200-300 yards. I don't think it's that far but I want to find an exact calculation. Thanks.

There is something called Journee's Rule that says the maximum range for a shot pellet (in yards) at typical shotgun muzzle velocity is 2200 times the diameter of the pellet in inches. For #8 shot, that works out to be just about 200 yards.
