Judging by this thread, Ben should have his Member signature changed to AK-Builder. [laugh]

I'm working on finding a shop to set up. Rent is the hard part lol .
Can't wait till the 54r drum shows up so I can try to get that work . 63 rds of steel core of hate lol.

Here she is. It's an Arsenal Sam7r. The rail is Arsenal and the optic is an Aimpoint PRO. The grip is the Magpul grip and the sling is Condor, I think. Actually had to cobble it together from two slings. Front has a clip while the rear does not.

Anybody have any idea what kind of handguard this is? I'm wondering if this guy drilled some type of triangle holes in the factory handguards? Notice the after and before images.

Guys, not owning an AK (but want one), what is the purpose of these funky thumb hole stocks? Is this some AWB thing? Stuff with these stocks we're made after the ban? Cause I'm not diggin' then at all.

Yep, the good ol AWB. The "sporter thumbhole stock" was put on since they couldn't have a pistol grip although I bought my MAK 90 that came with a regular wood butt stock but swapped it out for the Arsenal polymer stock and Hogue pistol grip.

Did you change anything else to keep it 922r compliant?

Looks almost photoshopped to me. Why someone would go through the trouble? I have no idea. Holes look funny to me though.

(unless its obvious and Im just not picking up on the joke)

They just look too black to me. No subtle variation of the color at all, just solid black. Like I said, I have no idea why anyone would go through the trouble, but they just dont look right.

Lots of people drill out their Saiga hand guards to detract from the factory look and yes I've heard it does actually help in cooling.

This Saiga rifle pic is actually from a review from this site: http://www.ballistics101.com/saiga_7.62x39.php. I noticed in the review he mentions needing a "magazine release block" (magazine must be fixed or non-removable without the use of a tool) by law. I believe these guys who did this review are out of California. Any idea if this is just some silly California law? Assuming this has nothing to do with Massachusetts laws or 922r.
