Short Barrel Rifle and AOW

OK, I know that for a Machine Gun, you need certain qualifications and the coveted Mass "Green Card" and that short barreled shotguns of any kind are illegal.

But what about short barrel rifles? Can these be legally obtained in MA?

And while we are on the subject, what about federally declared "Any Other Weapon" or AOW such as large caliber rifles?

A cursory look in the MGL doesn't seem to really cover these.

If the 10/22 is registered as a short barreled rifle, then you can put a 12" barrel

If you have not gone thru the Form 1 or form 4 process, then it is illegal
