CAN YOU GO TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER AND ASK THEM TO ORDER IT FOR YOU?
Note that the firearm must be legal to purchase in your state. Here in MA, there are many handguns that can't be sold in the state. Having them transferred through a local dealer is not an option in this case.

I've done this a few times, I recommend in MA that you talk to as many FFL's as you can, to get a concensus on what he/she will transfer in first before you go shopping, because it can vary. The process is exactly as described above. Stay away from magazines over 10 rounds in newer firearms.
I live in NH. I appreciate the advice...
Then you are in a much better situation than those of us behind enemy lines. Still, you should find an FFL who will accept the transfer prior to buying anything.
Of course I will, Thank you.
