Paxton Skeds....

I will also try to join tonight, am pretty much wide open. Just FYI the Paxton repeater is also a SKYWARN repeater so there may be other traffic on there today.

Crap...good point. We might not want to clutter up the repeater if it's activated. Is there another one that we can plan to meet on???

Yeah, just got that email about SKYWARN, though if I'm not mistaken, isn't it only eastern MA that there's activity?

We could try to talk on the Harvard MA repeater, it's northeast of Paxton.
Harvard is 145.410- , PL 74.4

SKYWARN operations were active as of 10AM today, but there is little activity outside of the Cape and SS so I wouldn't worry too much. Besides, most repeaters with good coverage are also SKYWARN repeaters.

I've been talking on the Scituate, RI repeater on the way into work and on the way home...

I can go down and listen to the Paxton Repeater if you want...Scituate is pretty busy right now... I was talking on the way home and there were about 4 - 8 people on there complaining about how the storm is a joke. LOL!

Sadly I can only barely copy Paxton from Quincy, I blame Blue Hills since I can copy it loud and clear all up and down 95.

I would recommend against using Paxton right now. Due to some antenna problems that can't be solved till spring, there is a lot of interference in bad weather. As of right now you'll need to crank your radio up to 30+ watts (depending on your location) if you want to be heard over the interference.

I'll have to see...if I am we'll talk. I'm working on my oldest that just ran to the bathroom...so I'm thinking that she's getting sick. The wee-est one already had the throwups and the poops...and I had it yesterday...so I'm worried that it's making it's run in the house.

That sucks. Hope the family gets well soon.

Really interesting net on paxton tonight. The topic is an interactive interview with Jerry (don't know his call) about his experience as a blind ham.

Currently ongoing.

New Ham question: How do I find out what the skeds are for various repeaters? Do many repeaters poste them somewhere or is it mostly just local knowledge?

Thanks-Bob

If the repeater is run by a club of some sort, they might have a website with a schedule of the various nets. I'm a member of MTARA, which runs the Mt. Tom repeater, and the net schedule is posted on the MTARA website. You could try locating the call sign of the repeater you're curious about and googling it to see if a website exists.

fyi I put up a J Pole today. looks like I can hit the Paxton repeater now.
