Nice twosome! Would be interested to hear what you have planned for the 9mm to make it competition ready

Jeeziz. Some nice slabsides in these last few pages... Dat WC. [thumbsup]

I've had nothing to contribute to any new acquisition thread for months. In fact I've been selling guns to fund my project car. [thinking]

I am suing you for the neck injury I gave myself while trying to look at that picture upside down! [grin] My wife just walked by and asked "what the hell are you doing? "

Sweet Smith

LOL, I have no idea how that ended upside down. When I grabbed it from my pic lineup it was right side up!

I have posted pics of this one before, but I have been shooting the hell out of it and it is my favorite of my meager collection. Figured i'd throw up some current pics after a cleaning.

Major smithing by Lou at Business End, aesthetics by Rogers Precision. The action is awesome and the grip is perfect.

A lot of incredibly nice 1911's in here, and a few that are killing me in the classifieds... Must pay debt, must pay debt.

Damn! That is a sweet pistol!!!!!!! Yes, there seems to be alot a really nice 1911's on the market now. I just picked up my 10mm Wilson Combat and fondled some really nice Springfields,Colts and an AMAZING Ed Brown with Ivory grips......these guns have a "viagra" affect on me and I can't leave my office at the moment [grin]

Just picked this up at Lunch today.....Guncrafter Industries No Name 45ACP 1911

Sooooooooo.......I am fighting the urge to sell this one but I just can't bond with it.....in all honesty the front and back strap checkering is too agressive for my girly hands and it feels like i am holding a bees nest after 50 rounds, I refuse to wear gloves and skip the "just deal with it" and "rub your hands with sandpaper dude!" At this stage in my life I want to enjoy shooting great guns and to enjoy every single moment. Wish this had 30LPI checkering but Guncrafter does 15LPI.....damn

Is that one of their models that is convertible to .50GI?

I don't think so. They have other models that are built around the 50GI and then you can fit a 45acp barrel to them but I don't think you can go the other way. Not sure where you would find the ammo anyway except from them

True words, and a gorgeous pistol!

Because you re such a nice guy, and I have big thick meat hooks, I am willing to help you out. I will trade you for my Walther 22 to spare you the pain and trouble. [grin] Alright, I will throw in a hundred bucks and some of my wife's world famous Toll House cookies.

Now my computer is covered with water and people are staring at me here at work.....LMAO.

Colt Gold Cup National Match

I mean it in the most respectful way when I say "You suck!" That is my dream gun!

I think that purely from an aesthetic point of view, there is just no equal to the Gold Cup. There are other nice 1911's out there, but that is the pinnacle.

Absolutely beautiful.

I have noticed that you have a seriously nice collection. It must have taken you a lifetime to build

Thank you sir for the compliment. I have been collecting and buying firearms for over 30 years and whenever I take the Gold Cup out to the range I remember why I purchased it.

It's great that you shoot it. Is it as accurate as one would expect?

It truly is an heirloom. My collection is pretty well rounded and covers most of what I consider "needs" with quality firearms, but I have just started to really hunt down the type of firearms that someday my grandson will hold and consider a treasure. On that list is definitely a National Match. It is a work of art. Very, very nice

Lets say its more accurate than I am[laugh]. Other folks I have let give it a try can really out shoot me and all have big smiles after they run a couple mags thru it.

I have a Ruger 1911 that was "enhanced" lets say and is at the engravers now. I will be sure to post pictures of it when I get it back from the engraver.

Some of the new 1911's after being tweaked by smiths like Greg Derr and others are simply outstanding to shoot. The only issue I foresee is that gunsmiths of their caliber are a dying breed.
