I got in on that Wild Wednesday thing and bought two of the M-44s for
$59.95 i had to have two! anyway i did have a model 38 that i got rid of a
year or so for two reasons, one is it did not shoot worth a dam and the
other reason was it kicked like an Army Mule so i thought that something simmuler would do the same and im sure it will but after getting the two M-44s
in near mint shape i said i have to shoot these! so i fired up the old lead pot
made up a few .312 dia bullets got out my lill-dandy powder throw, put in
a #23 Drum that throws 12.3 grains of Unique and of to the range.
talk about an enjoyable sesion! Awsome groups @50Yds and the recoil
of a .22Rifle ! A Center Fire Rifle,A great Group, and no recoil !! it dont
get any better than that.

Glad they shoot good for you S.D. Moving the front site is not an easy task. I was gonna get one when the sale came up, but my SKS collecting has taken over my wallet[grin] .

Did you fire with the bayonet folded or deployed?

I only fire mine with the bayo out. When I first bought my M44 the bayo was detached and the gun shot dead-to-nuts. Then I mounted the bayo, if its out it also shoots dead on....folded it drifts the zero over a tad.

I love my M44!

I have a couple 44's. They are A LOT of fun. Took a bit of tweeking to get them sighted in, but not too bad. My son and have a great time with them..

i only shot cast lead bullets in mine so far with the Bayonet folded
it shot great, but now i am going to have to try it Fixt Position to see
if it makes a diferance, i never thought about there being an impact
change but someone said somthing about the SKS shooting better
with the bayo fixt, oh well any excuse to go to the range is a good one!!

Rumor has it these rifles were sighted in with the bayonet extended in the fixed position. Some rifles shoot better this way, some don't. My Polish does shoot better with it extended, my laminated Russian doesn't. [rolleyes]
What ya need is some heavy ball Hungarian ammo for fire ball effect. You'll see a fireball about 2 to 3 feet from your muzzle.[smile]
Don't forget the recoil pad though.[shocked]
