Update: They're clean and in great condition. Used to transport cranberry juice. The guy selling them says he will have them until March. I could only fit 8 in my long bed truck but I did put two more up in the backseat of my cab.

My company has 100's of those with nothing to do with them. They come full of pharmaceutical grade salt and have steel belted locking lids...

i'll try and get more info from someone who knows more about them.

No worries, I have multiple emails from him. Great guy and he met me when he said he would. Clean barrels with a nice, fruity smell of cranberries.
