Brace yourselves: he had one rifle, one shotgun, and two pistols, all legally owned. Oh, and "military style knives".

Police find large weapons cache in Waikiki raid prompted by disturbing online posts

probably had nothing to do with the "disturbing posts on social media" why they paid him a visit.

I take more than that with me on a normal trip to the range...
Same. Next trip will be three rifles with new scopes needing sighting in and at least a couple of handguns. Plus my EDC that gets at least a couple of mags every trip. And if Lady Radtekk or one of my daughters goes also?

That reporter would faint if they got look in my basement.
I looked over at Lady Radtekk and said basically the same thing, then scrolled and saw your comment.

They used the excuse of him having prescription psychiatric drugs as justification for removing his firearms while they determine if he is mentally stable or not. Curious what wide range of pharmaceuticals that falls under.

Most pharmaceuticals CAUSE, rather than CURE psychotic behavior.
If the doc mis-doses forget it man.
I knew someone with acute lithium poisoning and they wanted to lock him up. Thought the guy was severe bipolar. One doc decided to actually look at what the guy was taking, thought the dose was high, and tested him for toxicity. After a month he was back to normal.

"Phychiatric meds" can include anything from heavy duty anti-psychotics to the anti-depressents that half of America seems to be on.

Which is exactly my point. How many firearm owners/Americans could fall into one of those buckets?

The FBI and Honolulu police are investigating after finding a large cache of loaded weapons during a raid of a Waikiki hotel room that sources say was prompted by disturbing posts on social media.

But the man staying in the room wasn't arrested.

The FBI notified Honolulu police Thursday about a guest in room 803 at the Equus Hotel, saying he was claiming to be a federal agent in disturbing posts on social media.

So there is a little more to it. And he wasn't even arrested.

The big island will be gone when it finally blows. The gov. recommended people go to the other side to be safe. What fools.

If they do that, the island will tip over, doesn't matter if it's the big one. Have you seen how fat the average American is? Add +20 to your average samoan-polynesian-luau buffet eatin Hawaiian big islander.

The number is HUGE because SSRI anti-depressants are not the sole realm of psychiatrists, but are prescribed by primary care MDs as well as other specialists.

Taking Wellbutrin or Zyban to help you stop smoking? That's an anti-depressant: congratulations, you're on the list.

Taking Chantix to stop smoking? It's not scheduled as an anti-depressant, but it might very well make you go crazy and commit suicide.

Hmmm let's see. A man in a hotel room with a bunch of weapons. Sounds familiar.

The scenario seems to mimic that of the Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock’s stay at the Mandalay Bay and Francho Bradley’s stay at a Massachusetts hotel where large weapons caches and tactical military gear were also found. It also seems likely that all three men were working under the FBI’s direction and may have been cut loose or detached for reasons unknown (possibly to be used as patsies).
