There are plenty more laughable pieces on that page...but this is probably most relaveant.

Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

According to this, I should start buying up property in 'urban' areas, as it will be a flood of $$ to revitalize those areas. Buy now during the fire sale!

I hope all the people who voted for Obama becuase they wanted to make history realize what they have done.

ugh, Obama is an a-hole and he hasnt even been in office yet.

"Childproof" - I love it - there is only one thing that children are overexposed to and need control over, and that is adults...once upon a time we were all so positive about life and living, and then adults taught us different...now we fear everything by just thinking about it.

"They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets."

Umm, not on our streets...No context to that one, and there needs to be. On our streets in the hands of unlawful gang bangers? On our streets in the hands of a lawfully armed citizen in a time of civil unrest in defence of life and limb?

They took away all guns in the UK. I'm clinging to my black rifles, which are not assault weapons. Time to buy more...

The second amendment is not about hunting rifles, it is about the People bearing the small arms commonly in use by the military in order to defend our rights and freedoms.

Again, are we going just to cry helplessly and let them screw us?

Heck no...when the time comes I'm writing all my congress(wo)men and telling them these laws make no sense. And if they are common sense then we're already following them, etc or something.

They had they Million man march now its our turn...... A Five Million gun owner march!

-DM-

It's easier to get together to BAN something than it is to get together to prevent a ban. So many gun owners will be, "Ehh, it's only those black rifles I don't use anyway."

We're disorganized, and gun ownership is turning into a thing of the past because of people turning to sheep.

Write letters and make calls to your reps and Senators then in 2010 we change Congress and in 2012 we change the White House.[thinking]

Of course if they come knocking...well that is a different story.

the time has come. start writing.

And beyond that, we need to financially support pro gun candidates, even if they are not in our state. We need to identify the strong 2A supporters who have both vision and influence, and flood them with political and financial support. Sacrifice buying a couple of guns over the next 2 years to support the right to buy a couple of guns.

Anyone seriously think that our letters matter? Please wake up, finally.
We are dealing with socialistic perverts.

I stand for Million Armed Men and Women March, for the beginning.

Not surprisingly, someone needs a civics lesson. Presidents don't get to "repeal" amendments to existing legislation. Perhaps he will oppose the amendment next year, but, of course, that doesn't sound like something Black Jesus would be limited to.

Perhaps this is where NRA and GOA might want to step up and help us get organized. Talk is cheap.

While I agree with the sentiment, calling him Black Jesus is offensive to me on many levels - the foremost as a Christian.

That being said, remember, this is his wishlist. He's got an anti-gun agenda - big surprise. Is this going to suck? Oh yes. Are we under seige as gun-owners? Oh yes. What do we do?

First, take a look at the other issues on his wishlist. We're focusing on the gun piece because, let's face it, we're a single-issue community. You have to HUNT to find the gun piece buried as a piece of his larger agenda. He's got so much crap on there I'd be very surprised if his gun issues are a high priority right now. He's facing a war and an economy in shambles. If he doesn't fix that right away he's toast in 2012. He's not going to spend political capital on a minor piece - so we have some time to work.

1) Vote pro-gun candidates to congress. He can't do much w/o congressional backing. He's got it for the next 2 years, VOTE in 2010.

2) Join the NRA. Join GOAL, Join whatever pro-gun PAC you prefer but JOIN!

3) Get active in pro-gun activities. Educate the populace. Show them that guns aren't as scary as they think and that not all gun owners are gang-bangers or wild-eyed crazies.

We're scared right now and we're angry. OK. Remember though, if you let your fear make you strident and if you go around in public uttering phrases like 'Black Jesus' or other stuff from talk radio you're not going to win any hearts and minds.

Of course they have us boxed in since we can't just go to DC and march, some of us can only protest armed in our own states due to the already fun gun laws!

Sportsmen only; 2A Disrespected

Sportsmen
Barack Obama did not grow up hunting and fishing, but he recognizes the great conservation legacy of America's hunters and anglers and has great respect for the passion that hunters and anglers have for their sport. Were it not for America's hunters and anglers, including the great icons like Theodore Roosevelt and Aldo Leopold, our nation would not have the tradition of sound game management, a system of ethical, science-based game laws and an extensive public lands estate on which to pursue the sport. Barack Obama and Joe Biden recognize that we must forge a broad coalition if we are to address the great conservation challenges we face. America's hunters and anglers are a key constituency that must take an active role and have a powerful voice in this coalition.

I don't think she was advocating we march armed [grin] In DC, that might prove problematic given the gun laws. I think she meant more along the lines of 'Million Gun Owner's March' or 'Million 2A Supporter's March'

& she's right. We need to get more visable in a POSITIVE way. The lft demonizes us as crazies opposing 'common sense' legislation 'for the children' to make our cities 'safer'.

WE are being shown as the anti-law-and-order people by the LEFT! We need more postive publicity to show the rest of the nation that we're no one to be afraid of.

Black Jesus is offensive to me on many levels, too. Oh, you mean the term. I recommend a thicker skin. I'm not looking to win any hearts and minds.
