The term "high power" has nothing to do with caliber size. It has to do with being center-fire, velocity and pressures. Obviously, some are more "high power' than others.

I don't shoot coyotes for their pelt, just because they are a pest.

When I shoot them, I use a 7.62x54R or 308. Makes good practice for the larger Varmints.
