I may inherit a small collection

PP,

Please do a search here on inheritance. We've covered it in detail before.

EOPS List and AG Regs are irrelevant to inheritance (thru the executor of an estate), AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT INVOLVE ANY FFLS!

Both Fed and MGLs allow you to take direct possession of any legal guns (no guns or mags banned by the MA AWB or mag restrictions) with NO FFL involved, even interstate, as long as you are properly licensed for type of gun and do an FA-10 for each one upon receipt (as a "registration" only, no info on where you got it, only gun description and your info).

This only applies if the person "giving" the guns is now deceased. I'm adding this as sometimes we tend to use the term "inherit" to mean getting something from a living person who just wants to get rid of something.

I'll bite. How do you inherit something from someone who's still alive? :?

Not in a legal sense, you can't.

But I recall the saying that I inherited someone else's work/product line/personnel when I was hired into a group or given a new assignment. It's in the vernacular, so I wanted to make sure that what I was referring to was strictly the "legal term".
