I was seriously pondering moving from NH to Chelmsford, just because of my job. I feel dirty for thinking like that!

Don't do it man!!!! It's all right...it was a momentary slip....take a deeeeeeep breath and sanity will begin to seep back in. You'll be fine. Just go lay down for a while.

already did, got my NH drivers licnese at 9"30 in AM , bought a pistol at 4:15 that afternoon. Ill drive to Mass to make $ , but live in the land of the free.

NICE! And of course you suck!

I think I will be here for almost another year! I will be concentrating this coming spring and summer on doing some improvements to the homestead. I will redo the kitchen again, but this time I will install new cabinets, along with another new counter top/sink. I will also be putting in a new floor. I will also take on a bathroom remodel as well. I have already installed a new vanity, sink, tub, and toilet, so I will only have to finish the job by putting in the tile. I am figuring that another $5000 to make the improvements, should easily net me $10,000 on the other end, as I will be doing it all myself.

Then I am outta here!

Where you headed Adam? You coming up to NH?

Silly question! Yep... I am looking around the Hollis, Mason area... Damn! I just looked at a map, and D would be my neighbor!

Was just looking and I found
$259,900
4 Bed, 2 Bath
2,290 Sq. Ft.
5.15 Acres

DAMN! I just can't get the hell out of this state fast enough! That's less than I payed for my house 3+ years ago, and it's barely 1000sq ft, on a little less than 3/4 acres!

Yep you can get a very nice sized house in the right area for amazing prices...

You can say that again! I think with that much land, I would want a moat going around the property so I can keep the illegals out and protect my own border!

I'm not cutting and running like the rest of you ladies. :)

Despite this states socialist leanings, there is still room for Patriots. Every state is just one more school massacre away from knee jerk draconian gun control anyway.

My family is here, my school system is good, the job market is far better, the Boston suburbs rule!

Plus the saltwater fishing is far better than NH or ME and Maine is more commie than MA these days, so is RI.

I love it here despite the faults. :)

Naaaaah, apparently they have to be mailed back. My insurance company had me mail mine to them and they turned them in. I was glad to be rid of it though.

I HATE SEEING Ma**h*** LICENSE PLATES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE!!!!! But I tolerate them as long as they drive in to buy stuff then leave. [laugh]

Edit: My driver's license also got mailed back to the People's Republic. I was somewhat bummed out as I had planned to shred it. Oh well.

Serious? I still have my first Maine Driver's licence (I threw out my 2nd one) and I can't remember what happened to my Maine Plates....I think I threw them out too...but I remember them gathering dust in my place in Medford....

And Hells yeah These Mass Plates are buying pleanty in the Live Free or Die state....I swear the NH Liquor Store is part theme-park! [laugh]

Arrrrr

I'm already retired. I could move if I wanted to. Why? I'm going to stay and continue being a pain in the ass to the "beautiful people".[smile]

+1 John

My sentiments exactly! Now, there are multiple and certainly valid reasons to get the hell out of dodge, but there are certainly arguments to be made to stay.
For those of us born here, it's a birthright thing. Massachusetts, where liberty was born, sadly, has just moved away. See, for me, that's the rub.
Call it an "alamo" complex, but I just refuse to be driven out. Interestingly enough, 2A and firearms in general, seem to be a nerve with the limousine liberal set. It's getting to the point that just going to the range has a patriotic feel to it. Moreover, those of us that stay here, and continue to exercise our version of citizenship, boldly, in the face of overwhelming criticism, may just stem the tide long enough, for the torch to be passed to the next generations. Maybe, just maybe, things will go full circle. Probably not in my lifetime, but maybe my son's. Maybe it never will, but there were those who thought in 1775 that Independence would never happen in the face of such long odds.
Look how that turned out.
Not everything is worth fighting for, just the important stuff.
I'll make my stand here.

Retirement is not that far off. I have pleaded with my wife for either Idaho or Texas, but it will probably be New Hampshire. It will most assuredly not be MA.

We'll be in Maine someday, hopefully - that is if Greg can pry my very deep roots out of this home I've been in for almost 30 years. It'll be hard to leave, but I keep telling him - all he needs to do is find the right little farmhouse and five or so acres....[wink]

Must be nice. I'll be holding the fort against the zombies, probably to the bitter end. [thinking]
I got your back, RJ; I'm not going anywhere, either. Remember: In brightest day, in blackest night: no evil shall escape my sight... I think that means that we're supposed to keep a sharp eye on the liberals. [smile]

Man talk about somthing worthy of a few .223 holes and a nice frame and matting!

Naaaaah, apparently they have to be mailed back. My insurance company had me mail mine to them and they turned them in.
So nu? Is there a rule that it can't have some holes in it when it's mailed back? Just take some pix first and frame the pix.

Maybe it never will, but there were those who thought in 1775 that Independence would never happen in the face of such long odds.

That's a little bit different. The colonists got pissed off
taxation and took their guns, formed militias, and
ultimately got into some huge battles with the
british. When the colonists got pissed off, they ended
up -shooting at- the enemy. We've reduced to whining
to the enemy (eg lobbying) and filing lawsuits. [rolleyes]
which doesn't seem to be nearly as effective. The colonists
also had a groundswell of local support behind them. We
have virtually none, except from other MA gun owners (the
gun owners in the rest of the US basically make fun of us for
staying here) and a handful of politicians in MA that believe
in gun ownership as a right.

I can see someone justifying staying in MA because of
family or other reasons, but saying you're "staying here
to fight" is pretty amusing, considering that battle
was already lost, a long time ago. The permitting
system, registration, awb, etc, is already evidence
that we're basically prisoners of war at this point. At
this point, "fighting" is basically a matter of trying to
preserve the status quo, on a good day... and the status
quo is horrific. Staying in MA is not much different than
a soldier saying that they want to hang out at the Hanoi
Hilton to fight the NVA. It just doesn't pan out all that
well in reality.

Obviously everyone has different individual perogatives
when it comes to either staying or leaving and everyone
must make their own decision... Obviously, for some,
there are overriding factors... family, career, etc... all
of which are important.

The longer I stay here though, the more I get pissed off.
The funny thing is, I've been here most of my life, and until
I became a gun owner several years ago, I had no idea how
screwed up this state was. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
I don't know when I'll be able to leave (due to practical
concerns and $$$$) but getting the hell out of this state is
on my "To Do" list.

We're kind of 'stuck' in MA for a while. (long story)

However, as soon as the situation opens, I'll head back to my favorite state of NH. Doubt I could afford to live in Alton now (especially anywhere near the Lake) but between the lake and the White Mountains is nice, and maybe I could even find something on one of the rivers. Plymouth is a nice town. Nice Ski area there too (Tenney) and easy access to 93, white mountains, etc. Hmmm. Wonder if Plymouth has a nice gun club that would like me?

*sigh*

So many reasons to want to go. Guns are just the icing.
