Turkish M1911A1's for the Civilian Marksmanship Program

We (Americans) keep telling ourselves it's OK to destroy our manufacturing base so we can save money at a store.

I'd say that's entering into nightmare territory. Especially when you look at the countries giving us all these low prices.
Oh, there are still plenty of American gun manufacturers, but plastic is their main highly-profitable thing now (in terms of handguns) and all-metal is a costly luxury for collectors and demanding sport/competitive shooters only (i.e., no longer for police). Did they even get a quote back from any American all-metal handgun manufacturers for this specialty item? 🤔
