I just picked up a used S&W 686 for $500. Cleaned it, brought it to the range and fired a hundred rounds through it with a few friends. Nice shooter, everyone loves it, but it's a little scratched up. It's stainless and I could probably buff it out but I want it done right. I usually will spend more on tools to do the job than it would have cost to send it out. The gun is great, I just want to have a conversation piece. Suggestions please.

I just get things done faster than you. Don't hate! [smile]

I went to the gym, voted, walked the dog, impregnated my wife, put an offer in on a house. whaaa-what!

I was busy too!~

I laid down, scratched my nuts, kicked the cat, watched porn, made a ginger bread house out of old cheese, called up old people and told them I was from the Census Bureau but I refused to count them because they were going to die soon, and made a sandwich.

LOVE the avatar! Glad you had cheese left for your sandwich after making the g-bread house.

I looked for videos of how-to polish a gun, but no luck. Just gunna have to wing-it.

Try a scotchbrite it leaves a nice finish on stainless steel it will take out most scratches , but if there deep use wet or dry sandpaper in the fine grits then scotchbrite.

Welcome back Scrivener.

I have not heard one bad thing about that gun

Until I just said that and now I will. But it is the balls. I just want to make it real pretty. If I can't shoot someone with it at least I can blind them with the reflection.
