H4102 is DEAD Congratulations all and thank you.

Because even those who understand what's wrong with it know its hard to even get into the press with this message and even if you do, you have to compete with sound bites from the Governor that people don't require any evidence to believe. ...

This is where a pro-RKBA! billboard would come in useful. It puts the idea of an alternative way of thinking into people's minds.

I managed to call the Reps below whose last names start with the letters A -C....and sent emails to all of them. I hope others can pick up the ball and keep it rolling and thanks to those who've already dialed/emailed/sent letters!

Here's a list of MA Representatives, emails, and phone numbers. Let them all know what you think of H4102. Area code 617:

So, do the "talking points" need to be changed now in light of this morning's ruling? Do we need to change what we tell our legislators based on the new set of circumstances before us? I wonder if this nonsense will just be dropped and substituted with 2259 now. Anyone? GOAL? Bueller?

No need to change the talking points, just like the governors bill can't make "illegal guns" more illegal, the unconstitutional legislation is still just that.

Just found out that the House will not conduct any business until after the holiday due to the untimely death of Rep Nyman.

Expect this bill to come back up for discussion next week.

According to the NRA email blast I received today, the house voted to return this to committee. Are they up on some scoop, or just waaay behind the times?

Way behind the times. The committee gave it a favorable rating the second time around. 6 for and 5 against as I recall. That was last week I think.

Got home from the range a little while ago and found a message from Rep Gregoire on my phone, assuring me that she would be voting against H4102.

You're just Johnny on the spot there, Danielle. [thinking]

BTT.

I've verbally contacted all reps A-G...left messages at most numbers. All have been contacted by email. The response has been somewhat disappointing. The only reps, so far, explicitly expressing opposition to H4102 (and supporting 2259) are:

James Arciero
Fred Barrows
Anne Gobi
Bradford Hill
Donald Humason
Bradley Jones
Robert Rice
Jeff Perry (of course!)

Some others would not comment, saying they would pass my concerns to the reps:
James Cantwell
Geraldine Creedon

Most have not replied/responded one way or another. I know many that oppose 4102 are sponsors of 2259. Will keep plugging away, might be our only chance if 2259 is no longer in play.

You can add Rep. Miceli to your list. He's against H4102.

You can check the voting record on who voted to send H4102 back to Committee for that last approval.

Response from Rep. Christopher Donelan:

Mark,
Thanks for the email. I oppose the bill in its current form. Some members of the House are attempting to re-write it, but I am not sure any bill will be acceptable.

Chris

If this does pass and we can no longer do ftf sales how does that affect those of us who own non-ma compliant firearms? Currently those firearms can only be sold either ftf or to a dealer that then can only sell those to a LEO or such. Even an FFL can not sell non-ma compliant guns to non LEO customers. Are we now stuck with guns we can not sell or have to sell to a dealer at lower prices? I am guessing we would be forced to sell them out of state through ffls which is what the dumbass liberals want us to do anyway?!?!?!

Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

Our Governor (gag) was on 96.9 this morning with (how do you spell moron) Braude,

someone called about 4102, The Governor said he thought he had good support in the

Senate but not sure about the House. We have a strong gun lobby in this state,

no shit.

I had sent Barry Finegold (Dem 17th Dist House) an email asking for his position on 4102, since he is trying to move into the State Senate seat being vacated by Senator Sue Tucker. I knew that he had voted to send 4102 back to committee, which was against our wishes. I painfully and slowly explained the bad features of the bill (4102) to him. He seemed to think it was just going to limit us to one gun/month and thought it sounded reasonable. I think I opened the door a crack on his line of thinking. Oh yeah, got in a plug for H2259 too.

I told him how we felt like this is the straw that broke the camel's back and we are tired of what is going on. I reminded him that the people are fed up with business as usual and just take a look at the fact that Senator Brown got himself elected.

It all probably fell on deaf ears but he did call me personally to get my thoughts about our gun issues and that's good. I think I'm still looking at Rep. Jamison Tomasek in my district as the best candidate so far.

Another update. I think they've gone home for the day. More calls tomorrow.

Listening to 96.9 about 9:45 today, Attny General is on, Braude said "interesting call yestereday
about the governors gun bil, you support that don't you" She said "NO I DON'T" and when
onto explain her point. I WAS IMPRESSED......

(Calling Milton folks first.) Scaccia has apparently taken both H4102 and H2259 home to read tonight. The person answering the phone did say that Scaccia is concerned about the bill (H4102) in light of the recent SCOTUS decision. I've asked for an email to hear back on his opinion.

I left a message for Timilty.

I think atleast 10k Mass Residents should write the Governor...

The Honorable Deval Patrick,

I would like to enlighten you on some wonderful reading should you find the time. Thanks for your time and service to the people of Massachusetts and have a great day.

Declaration of Rights, Part I, Article XVII

The people have a right to keep and bear arms for the common defense. And as, in the time of peace, armies are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be maintained without the consent of the legislature; and the military power shall always be held in an exact subordination to the civil authority, and be governed by it.

US Constitution, Bill Of Rights, Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
