Call this one the New Years resolution thread.. It came up on another thread..
This is the guns we bought because they "looked SOOO cool thread".

I will start and see if anyone can top me as the biggest loser..

Cobray StreetSweeper
(finally sold after 4 yrs of trying)

Cobray semi mac 11 380
(good thing I have a 30 rd mag.. this life size target just does not seem
to be big enough)

Ingram semi open bolt mac 10 /9mm
(hey, did that shot hit the hill??)

AO semi Thompson 28 style
(hmm a 13lb 45acp, that is SO COOL)

AO semi Tommy M1
(hmm.. This one's only 11lbs.. Let's try THAT!)

Q3 (yes 3) interord PPK jam-o-matics
(007s wasn't like this!!! Well maybe This one will be different...)

Feather at-22

Feather at-9

Rem 700 Pss 300 RUM
(So, everybody is going to start carry this caliber, right??)

MK760 (full auto)
well it would be if it would spit out more than 1 round w/o jamming..

Century But-hole L1A1

Nambu..
(Oh, I know where there ammo for that!!! NOT)

Hk Sp-89 (before I got a reg sear)

Auto Ord 1911
(well, as long as you say all standard 1911 parts will fit it, why not??)

KBI Russian Makarov in 380 (double stack mag)

FN 1922 (astra ish thing) Nazi marked in .32
(This one was actually kind of cool)

IMI Uzi Mod B carbine (in 45) semi.

What, am I the only one who had a reliable Interarms PPK in .380??? Damn... should have never sold it. Apparently, I had a collector's item. The ONLY thing that it wouldn't feed was the Blazer aluminum-hulled ammo. Everything else? *burp* Hand me another magazine, please!

Nambu..

Try Farnsworth Ammunition in VT for that stuff. If they don't have it, they can make it. Tell Nickle I sent you. [wink]

I just bought it last weekend... S&W 686, stainless with 8 3/8" barrel and way cool wooden grips. It had a custom trigger job and was sweet as could be. Smoothest trigger I've pulled in my short time as an enthusiast.

There is not a practical reason in the world I should have bought this thing, but it was calling my name. I just had to have it. Of course, right nearby was a S&W 500 Magnum with enormous barrel... kinda like its big brother. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I was out of money...

There is just something about these big guns that gets the testosterone flowing, soon followed by the money from my wallet.

Cheers,

Rich

ugh.

Auto Ordnance 1911A1. Biggest POS on this planet. But 1911A1s look sooo cool.

Every time I visit my folks in RI I go to the gun shop and stare at the Springfield Armory 1911A1's in the case and weep softly to myself.

This is political suicide but here goes.....

High Point 9mm: It looked cool at the time, but now it makes me want to cry...

http://www.valorcorp.com/images/products/1991064.jpg

that thing is hideous

[laugh]

my list: all my guns look cool.

I can't say they really compare to what's been mentioned here.

i don't own all of them still, but here goes

Glock 22, 2nd Gen
Walther PPK/S .380
Para O Nite Tac 9
S&W 442
Ruger 345 - should NOT be on the cool list. But it was a rather charming piece
SW1911
Glock 23, 3rd Gen
M&P 40
M&P 9c
Walther P22
Ruger 10/22 (after a build).

Before I got my license, the gun that I was most interested in was a Beretta CX4 storm. I never ended up getting one though.

I did get a Ruger PC9, because it looked so cool. The trigger was so weird that I ended up selling it, plus it weighed five pounds more than it had any right to.

I bought a well used Marlin 55 "Goose Gun" not 'cuz it looked cool, but because it made me reminisce about those golden days of college when I would borrow anything I could get my hands on to go hunting. Bolt action scatter guns from Western Auto or Monkey Ward were offered up frequently.

Later I bought a Mossberg 5500 MKII because it looked like an affordable alternative to an 1100 Rem. Yeah, it looked cool. This gun has been very good to me, (knocking on wood) but where ever I go somebody will recognize it and say, "that gun is gonna give you nothing but problems."

"Uh, Gee, Thanks." [rolleyes]

BTDT. And to think that I did NOT by the MADE IN CHINA Norinc, but paid and extra $45 for the one MADE THE USA. Never could get a mag to reliably feed in that thing.[angry]

Bought a Tommy gun last year. Sold it cuz I could not afford to feed it.

All my military stuff I bought becaue it looked cool. It still does.[smile]

Great way to be supportive there.

Sorry, but I'm just outclassed in this thread. I've got a few of mine, too, but I just can't measure up:

ParaOrdnance P14-45
HK USPc .45
HK USPc .40 (I didn't learn well enough after the first one).
Heavy-barreled, crude, backyard build FAL forgery

I've bought a LOT of guns because I thought they looked nice, but only 3 because of their 'cool' factor.

I'll see your Auto Ordnance and raise you an AMT Hardballer. Now, THAT is a truly big POS. I was so happy when I could get rid of that turkey...

Dennis, are you off of your meds again? I worry about ANYONE who considers a Nambu to be "cool"!!

Nambu's are cool! I like collecting old, outdated pistols.

Gun I bought because it "looked cool": chrome Jennings .22

Trust me, there's nothing cool about Jennings!!! (except the temperature of your lifeless body if you were stupid enough to carry one for self defense!)

Beretta Cx4 Storm
AR Pistol (well still building) once it arrives it'll be my new OC pistol.
Saiga-20

I'm with you on 3 of them

Cobray semi mac 11 380

Auto Ord 1911

KBI Russian Makarov in 380

and I'd like to add the following

Kel-tec P-11 (trigger needed 2 men and a boy to pull, and when you finally did, didn't hit near where it was aimed)

Sig 230 that was nickle plated ( paid way more than it was worth because of the finish)

S&W 500- (shot once, put in the safe and never touched again).

I'll add to the thread with purchases I expect to make, that I'm sure I'll feel the same about .

1. Desert Eagle
2. Tommy gun
3. HK Mark 23 (maybe I wont feel the same, but I've always wanted one)
4. HK P7M13 (again, always wanted one)

hmmm..
DE.. had one in 44 and q2 in 50ae... cool, fun, stupidly big and heavy, But fun.. I will probably buy another 50 at some point (i Never learn). But as they really were cool, I did not put those on the list..

Tommy?? Semis suck. Big, heavy, awkward. FA, classy, super cool, big heavy and classic.

Mk23. Big, very cool. Very very nice. But, imo, misses the mark w/o the supressor, (kind of like all the macs. (haven't bought one of those, yet).

p7m13. I love p7s. But the grip on the m13 is too big (IMO) mags are heinously priced. But a great gun. (had one, wish I kept it).

Dennis (Pilgrim): I love the Hi-Power...okay so it it goes:

Beretta CX4 in .45 ACP (still have)
Browning Hi-Power w/tangent sights (don't have)
Browning Hi-Power Practical (don't have)
Colt Commanding Officer's Model (special run, Govt Model Frame Officer slide) (don't have)
Colt Python (still have and cherish X2)
Colt All American 2000 ...a real POS (don't have)
Colt Single Action Army 3rd Gen Nickel Plated 51/2inch barrel (don't have)
Colt Lawman .357 (don't have)
S&W Model 39-2 Nickel Plated..my all time favorite gun ( lost in a divorce)
Remington Model 600 carbine .308 (lost in a divorce)
Auto Ord 1911A1 WWII Model (still have and not a bad gun)
Browning BDA 9mm (don't have...great over engineered design but not well made)
S&W Model 29 .44 Mag 3 inch barrel (don't have, only fired .44Spl in it)

Hey Nickel what do you want for your Hi-Power?

Mark L.

Boom chika chicka wa-Waah!!

Is there an orange or avacado eelskin holster to go with that one?
Isn't that the ultra limited edition Browning High-Pimper? Didn't it come in the popular 70s caliber of 9-by-Shut-Yo-Mouf?
But all that said.. It really is kind of cool..
