GSG STG44

I bought one this weekend and the owners manual suggests high velocity ammo for it. I'm guessing standard 22lr may not run 100% in these.

Anyone else here have one and if so what do you shoot in it for ammo?

I put a bunch of cci standard velocity through it and it was fine for me. Just shoots real low at 25 yards

Same here, I bought a bunch of CCI and it works fine.

IIRC the STG has been known to shoot low with most ammo.

Heavy, good looking gun.

When I saw one of these I couldn't think of any practical use for it and thought it was just a waste of money. But I still wanted one; that gun is beautiful.

PS Plenty of lube during break in (I prefer 0w30 synthetic) can be a big help.

I have put about 500 rounds of the federal bulk 525 with no problems.

One of the guys had one at the range yesterday. Brand new. We put about 10 mags through it using Federal Buik (maroon, 550 pak) with nary a problem.

Fun gun, and tempting. Damn tempting. It's the perfect surrogate trainer for my primary bug-out/SHTF StG-44.

Forgot about an update but it ran on everything I had that day including the Federal bulk pack stuff
