I did the math on the utility of meplat trimmers this winter. 0.16 MOA @ 600 didn't seem worth it & 0.01 MOA @ 200 definitely isn't worth it... to me anyway.

The X ring at 600 is 1 MOA wide. There is not a highpower shooter alive where .16 MOA makes a real difference.

With my Hornady prep center, it was a 9-10 step move per case. Insert,tighten,lever down.lever up,release ,remove brass from holder,deburr,chamfer,neck brush.


Giraud = insert , remove.

Let me bump this old thread...

I got the carbide cutter for my trimmer yesterday. I should've got it right off the bat.

The speed difference with a sharp cutter is amazing. I forgot what it was like.

The Giraud Carbide blade is standard with the trimmer. It allows a 15 degree inside case mouth chamfer and 45 degree outside chamfer for smooth burr free seating of VLD style bullets.

Ah. I think I bought mine in 2009 or 2010 and it came with the carbide cutter then.
