Hello,

The Mass Conservation Alliance continues working, as a collaboration of Sportsman’s County Leagues and groups to affect positive changes in the fee structures proposed by MassWildlife. United we stand, and this is another indication that we are successful in this approach.

Many clubs and organizations have donated funds and items to assist our new approach of hiring a lobbyist in order to try and see legislative change for the first time in decades. Thank you and your organization for your continued support as we, the sporting community in Massachusetts, look to see crossbows legal for all, reduced archery setbacks, MassWildlife reimbursement for free licenses and a number of topics.

Please take a moment to forward this message to your member clubs and their individuals members with the following ask:

- Call your local senator and representative and request they support budget amendments 296 and 328: Find My Legislator

- If and as your are able, please support the MCA’s effort to obtain a lobbyist by asking members to donate at MCA Action Fund

- Check to see if your club or member organization has donated and if not, reach out to your County league or to an MCA representative to find out how: MCA Action Fund Sponsors and Donors

Again, thank you for your support and together, we will continue to work towards change on Beacon Hill.

Mass Conservation Alliance

In 2017, the Mass Conservation Alliance (MCA) was reformed with the idea of increasing communication and collaboration across the sportsman’s organizations across Massachusetts. Our organization continues to grow, working with new partners that share our support for hunting, fishing, conservation and utilization of our resources. Our meetings are typically held quarterly; however they may be held more frequently as the membership requests.
The primary focus of the MCA is to work on legislation benefiting the sportsmen and sportswomen in Massachusetts. To achieve that goal, the MCA believes it is of the utmost importance to speak with one voice, showing our legislators the drive and enthusiasm for the topics supported by the voters.

"A quick thanks to the member clubs of WCLSC for their support. In the past week, we've had 2 additional clubs make donations and 4 additional from Plymouth County. Let's keep up the great outreach and momentum.

Budget Amendment 296 was included in the Senate budget to reimburse MassWildlife for the free/discounted licenses and the MCA will be working hard to make sure it makes it through reconciliation and is included on the final budget.

Please expect further updates regarding the legislation, lobbying efforts and outreach campaign next week. Hoping that everyone is able to enjoy the memorial day weekend, and thanks to those whose friends and family made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our country and freedoms. "

is asking to call Senate on budget amendment.
