I don't think I posted this as I did a search but was gone for a week and Christmas brain swisscheesing is in effect
A note about schools: My daughters principal called me a couple weeks ago, my daughter 'rung the bell' and told them to call her dad. Something about a note she wrote months ago, that was in recycle bin, that someone(s) else wrote something on the back about some bald guy being a pedophile. They tried to jam her up, said she must know who wrote it, who the bald guy is, blah blah blah. She didn't like how the conversation was going so she said to call her dad. It took three requests for them to call me. "We don't need to call your dad" "Why do you want us to call your dad?"..... she just kept up with the "Call my dad" Seriously proud of that kid and told them that on the phone that she did exactly, precisely what I told he to do if being questioned and didn't like where it was going.
First, they weren't happy I have taught both my kids to have them call me when anyone in any authority, a teacher, principal, cop or anyone else starts asking questions they don't like. Second, they weren't happy that when I saw her (office meeting when I got there) told her she wasn't in trouble. I knew she didn't write the pedophile line as it was spelled with a 'ph' and not an 'f' (I know what my daughter misspells).
In regards to schools, make sure your kids know not to try and talk there way out of a jam, not to try and confess to something they didn't do and not to take crap from people they don't have to. My kids instructions are to have them call me first, if it's refused; they are to request a lawyer; if that is refused they are to puke on the principals desk a claim major illness (back to call me again).
