Cool find: WWII 20 MM Cartridge Inspection Piece

A friend stopped over my house today after leaving work. He works at a local press shop that has been in business forever. While cleaning out some area near an old press, he found some interesting pieces they used to run for military contracts in all states of production.
This is a 20MM case that has been milled out to inspect case thickness and such.
