CMP order went open in Estore!!!!!

My order got to them just behind the last rash of carbine orders, but based on what others are posting at the CMP forum, I could conceivably have my SA FG Garand, new sling, and 432 rounds of .30-06 by next weekend.

I wouldn't count on by next weekend. Can take anywhere from days to months to go from open to processing.

Home finally. Opened the box for the sling first; beautiful piece of leather complete with CMP logo.

The Garand.

I was fully expecting a 5mil range serial number, based on what others were posting about their rifles, ordered around the same time, which would've meant a "Korean War" rifle.

Imagine my shock when I saw the certificate listing the serial # as

263XXX

An early WWII Garand.

If I'm reading the other numbers properly, the barrel is SA, 1947.

The Op-rod is cut, SA.

Bolt, trigger group all appear to be SA.

Haven't ID'd the rear sight assembly yet.

I am beyond psyched.
