Boston Legal:Dances With Wolves -video-

[If this thread is going to live, I may as well post here.]

Perhaps, that opening scene will be the only "take away" for that show. If so, David L. Kelly, author will be much disappointed and we should be cheered. The rest of the show (starting with the next scene; and minus the other storyline) was all anti-gun, and deprecating of Denny and guns.

I think that the mis-calculation of that scene comes from distance between us (who see it as a self-defense use) and the author who voices his take in the next scene with the question to Denny, "Did you have to shoot him?"

We see Denny's ridiculous shooting as funny, because we know it to be wrong tactics, and unlikely sucessful. The grabbers see it as typical of what a sadistic gun owner would do -- they think a knee-shot and two foot shots would hit under those circumstances AND that after holding his feet still for shooting, the bad guy will then just drop his weapon.

Author thinks it's horrible that anyone got hurt -- Jerry & Denny should both should have been submissive, handed over their stuff, and let the poor guy go on his way.

So the question is (and won't be answered here): What is the reaction of the people for whom gun-rights and gun-prohibition both are out of their world view?
