magna,
it's great that you're getting a lot of great ideas on guns from people, but there are a lot of things to consider when looking for a gun for concealed carry.
1. your body type- different shapes "hide" better than others
2. How do you dress? wearing a suit everyday -vs- jeans and t shirts -vs- sweat pants
3. What do you shoot well? Being able to carry a S&W 500 does you no good if you cant hit anything with it.
4. If you're planning to carry at work, what do you do (not the actual job), but do you sit all day? are you constantly bending?
There are many other factors, but these are a good start.
There are plenty of great guns that are great carry guns. A good friend of mine can carry a full size 1911 and (knowing where it is) I would never be able to tell he was carrying. I've tried to carry a similar gun and would have been better off trying to hide it in plain sight.
I will say this. . . if you decide to carry either IWB or OWB, spend the money on a good belt. It makes a world of difference.
