I disagree that he is a hypocrite. His contention is that none of the little people should have guns. He is not one of the little people. He is of the ruling class. When one of his subjects does not embrace his homosexual advances, he has the right, no the duty to wave his legal gun around and try to get his subject back in line. So I say not hypocritical, right in line with his thinking.
