Congrats to the new rifleman..good score...nice job Nick

For me, I'll echo weedwhacker's mantra : practice, practice, practice

Hope you guys do another AS practice for HSC members and a guest
in the near future...I can help set up, targets, etc, as well as participate

looking forward to the video, Ross

Nice work Nick! At least you got yours before the woman did ;)
She is working on it - we worked on Natural Point of Aim, Rifleman's Cadence, the Six Steps to Firing a Shot, and the Steady Hold Factors yesterday. Kate's groups shrunk noticeably.

Have you shot a Rifleman score yet, Stratocaster 1422? If not, we'll have more Appleseeds here in New England and more minis at Harvard this year... you're welcome to come down!

And if anyone doesn't recognizes any of the phases I used in the first paragraph... that invitation applies to you, too! Come on down.

Yeah I was kind of surprised to tell you the truth. I think her first day on the range ever she outdid me with the mk3, I think shes got a much steadier hand than I, or some other natural ability to shoot.

She knows what she needs to work on, and someone to help her, she'll probably shoot a rifleman score by the end of the next appleseed, if not before.

She's an awesome shot....definately some natural ability there, I have no doubt she will be able to shoot rifleman very soon. Anytime you guys want to practice just PM me, I usually shoot either Sat or Sun each week.

Congrats Nick! Had a blast shooting with you all. I'm with weedwhacker practice practice practice. I picked up a couple tips today that were very helpful. For example FORS (front opposite, rear same) for adjusting your sights.....never heard that before and its something I almost always screw up!

Looking forward to the next one of these.

Obviously, that was the first time you got taught how to make sight adjustments by Dwarven1, me or an Appleseed Shoot Boss called GMB74.

We definitely teach that saying, and I tell folks to "use the FORS" when making sight adjustments. The Star Wars take off really sticks in their heads.

And, congrats to Ninsho, for making the cut.

Someone needs to show Chaynes the trick of keeping a hunk of 2x4 around [smile]

eta:

Right click on Dwarven's links, save as whatever.3g2.

Find and install "Vista Codec Pack" even if you don't have Vista.

Optionally find and install Medial Player Classic.

You should be able to view the videos. I get no sound, not sure if I was supposed to.

As a minor bonus, you can also view most porn videos. shhh. Don't tell that guy that complained about it in the other thread last week!

Believe it or not, ON TOPIC question.

Kate is shown prone and apparently shooting righty, but her leg position is opposite, as though she was shooting lefty. I've only seen that when the shooter is a lefty. I'm wondering what, if any, effect this has on the shooting experience. Does it matter which way you draw up or only that you do?

I have no idea what you are talking about - trigger knee is up (right). Looks like a good position to me.

I called the BATF today to request my C&R packet...between my online request and my phone call I hope to apply soon. I'm totally getting one of those (maybe two)....i'll buy a rubber mallet to work the bolt [smile]

As promised... hope y'all can play them. I think you'll need Quicktime to play them.

OK, this isn't working... let me play around with this. Maybe I can find a converter.

appleseed practice

Hi folks,

I did the Appleseed on April 18-19th. Are you folks planning a practice fopr tomorrow, May 3rd? If so, I'd like to join you. At what time and at what range will you be meeting?

BTW, does anyone have pics from April 18-19th, I am having trouble locating pics to use foprthe HSC newsletter.

Thanks,

Chuck Barney

A couple NES members will be shooting at HSC in one of the unused action shooting pits at 10:30 Sat morning (tomorrow). Feel free to come shoot with us. We have a bunch of appleseed targets and are happy to share.

Wish I could this time, it was great last time. I'll be eyeball deep in schoolwork trying to finish everything in time to end the semester.

OK is HSC Harvard? I have not attended an Appleseed yet but want too. Would you mind if I stopped by to check it out? I have not picked up a 10/22 yet but will be soon.

Both of the May NH shoots are sold out. But June 20 at Athol, MA is wiiiiiide open. [smile]

One hopes there is at least one registrant, since I registered for it!

I may be able to interest a friend, who is without an FID/LTC. The Appleseed is training, though, so he'd be covered by "being instructed". Is that right?
