Here’s the the choice edible lookalike that I found today. Armallaria gallica- the Honey mushroom. White spore print, veil around the stape, fine hairs on cap with more darker hairs toward the middle, yellow tinge around bulbous base, and white flesh. Younger specimens where the veil still covers the gills are the best.Deadly Galerina which contains amatoxins like Amanitas. Do not eat.

Edible?Honey fungus
They are indeed. That one is past dates but I’m going on one single picture. A few shots of younger shrooms is necessary as well a spore print and more picture angles to be 100%.Edible?
Not one I would go near.View attachment 696393View attachment 696394View attachment 696395
We've had a mild week in the 60s here in TN. These little shrooms have been popping up out in the cow pasture. Any of you fungus guys know what they are?

Meant to post this one back when I took it. Should have taken more angles, but was mostly just curious what mushroom gets that big.
If I'd thought about it a minute, I'd have realized that was the next question.Need to see gills and stalk.
Looks like a fake morel. Can't recall the technical name. If it is, it's a no go.
